Look what i got from HOME DEPOT

I thought I'll share what I just purchase from the Home Depot for $100 (they got them on sale). Husky 6 drawer storage combo with 150 pc tool sets included. Brand might suck a little , but oh well I think it will do the job 8).

I use some Husky tools and they are just as good as everything else I use. Great buy!

Who cares what people say. They have a lifetime warranty just like craftsman. Just take the broken whatever back to home depot and they give you a new one.

Re:Look what i got from HOME DEPOT

I am all about the warranty. I use the crapsman, but that is b/c the ex used to work at sears, so mad discounts.

Great find. That just might be worth checking out. I need a crappy cabinet and I can just give the tools to my little cousin or something.

Re:Look what i got from HOME DEPOT

that isnt a bad set -if its your first set of tools. You will learn just how nice more expensive tools are though, when you really start working on cars.

if it were my first set, i would be happy with that. not a bad deal. I am working on a set that will/should last me for the rest of my life. I just picked up a full ball bearing tool chest from sears for $200 (scratch and dent, missing a key which they replaced for me) and usally every pay day, instead of going out to eat or whatever, I go to sears and pick up a new tool. (also egay) screw driver here, different tools there....over time it will add up.

also, like my little brother is doing now, go to swap meets and look for tools. he goes and buys tools at swap meets dirt cheap, then goes to sears on the way home. he has a nice collection going for real cheap right now.

Re:Look what i got from HOME DEPOT

I needed a storage cabinet and for that price I just couldn't help it, and aslo they come with a lifetime waranty. I already have a bunch of tools that I use if something needs to be fixed. Will probably be getting serious set of tools when i'll be working on cars every single time.

I use "strap-on", mack, craftsmen, husky...u name it. Only difference i've seen is the price tag lately. I don't even wanna know what i still owe the snap-on dealer ::) If you do mechanics work for a living, then the cheaper tools won't usually take the abuse, but for every-day wrenching, that's a steal and a half :D

Re:Look what i got from HOME DEPOT

My dads Snap-On man at work told them that Huskey tools are made by Snap-On... only 1/3 the price.

Thats why they have the Lifetime warranty, also if you compare the two brands you can see there practically identical.

Looks aren't everything, also I dont think they look nearly identicle.

From my experience:

Snap On > Bench Top (kmart brand) > Craftsman / Stanley > *Buffalo Tools*

my snap on are much higher precision & less likely to round even rusted bolts. My benchtop set is much better than the craftsman too, oddly enough.

Re:Look what i got from HOME DEPOT

I have all mastercraft. Wrenches, 2 level Tool Chest, Impact Gun, blah blah blah. Canadian Tire Brand. Not the greatest quality, but with a store on every corner, if you break something, as long as you can see the mastercraft name, I't a over the counter change with no questions asked.

I also "Misplace" alot of tools, so Snap-On, MAC or anything would be a waste of money.

Re:Look what i got from HOME DEPOT

I use husky at work and i am talking about we funking rape these tools. We have used them on our impact guns and everything never had one break or crack.

I have a full set of stanley at the house with a tool chest almost exactly like that. I love tose tools not one complaint.

I, too, love Husky. I think Snap-On is overkill for the shadetree. But that's just me...

The ONLY thing I don't like about Husky is their 1/2" - 3/8" adapters. Maybe it's just the sheer-point, I dunno:

Re:Look what i got from HOME DEPOT

at home i have a mix of craftsman, benchtop, stanly, and some other cheap brands. I round off more bolts than I care to think about, but I can work on some of the rustiest/shittiest stuff with my Snap-On set and get away without nearly as many problems. I only take snap-on to junkyards, no point in ------- with rusted-ass bolts with shitty tools.

It's not just the precision of the wrench, there is alot in the metalurgy and forging process to prevent the head from flexing. Also the shape of the beam has alot to do with how much torque you can comfortably apply. Not to mention the finish quality, a good wrench can be used as a mirror.

I'll post some pics of my sets tomorrow.
