Default Locomotive. ---- i deal with

so a few weeks ago we had a train engine runaway on us at the shop, by this i mean, batterys, fuel and air was all shut off, but it kept on going...heres some footage

supervisor = white hat
african americans = yellow

heres 16 cylinders of furry, going hard. these engines MAX rpm is 1250. the word is it was well over that running at 3000

- air intakes were blocked with cardboard and plywood, along with 6 dry chemical fire extinguishers.

- this is when the battery switch was pulled, along with the fuel pump breakers shutoff along with the injection pumps. so it decided to run off its own lube oil.

heres some more after we african americans gave up

a few minutes after the last video she seized, bearings were screaming to the point where it hurt the ears. we took cover, waiting for some rods and pistons to take off.

the day before the pos let go, we replaced 2 power assemblys, and i got one of the pistons. this is a good way to spend 2 million bones

eh, i think this stems from oil leaking into the combustion chambers. since you need no power (just the heat and compression ) to get the diesel going, it runs. but when theres an oil leak, it just goes loose and never stops running untill it seizes.

was a question on cartalk radio on npr.

after we fix something, we have to take it out for running checks. check for water/oil/fuel leaks and what not. we do a load test where we put the locomotive in 8th notch, which is full horsepower, a engine like that produces 4200-4400 hp, with about 32-34lbs of boost. when the mechanic took it out of 8th notch and back to idle, the engine didnt follow and proceeded down its own path to destruction.

no one will get fired, wasnt anyones fault.

we dont do engine replacements at our shop, so i cant get any photos of the pistons, rods, crank, etc.

All of those videos could be described as a train at idle with smoke coming out. Where's the fucken carnage?

no one hit the fuel shut off valve?

You HAVE to close the valve, if not diesel will still get SUCKED in.
