A guillotine. This is mandatory in any pulling circuit above showroom stock.

I am quite surprised that a power unit worth that kinda $$$ wouldn't have a guillotine on the intake.

for how often they "run away" not really necessary. besides CN has a lot of money.

Sweet vid. We had a diesel generator run away before. It dropped an injector needle, overrun, blowby, then it was on it's own oil too. Cut the fuel and it didn't phase it. Being a single cylinder diesel it had a compression release valve that did the trick. But it still ran at like 5k for 2-3 minutes before I got there and killed it. I don't think it ever ran again...
