My brother-in-law got stopped for 140 in a 45 a few years back. Cops pulled him out of the car at gun point, and he spent the night in jail. Other than that no other penalties besides a rather hefty fine and his liscense was suspended / taken away for awhile.
He did have reason though, my sister got in an accident and made it out to be some life or death situation..
Still, if you want to go that fast, get on a race track and do it, no reason for that ---- on the road.

1. I would like to know how you get caught when you are going 142...Did he stop?
2. He reminds me of a friend here who got caught only doing ~120
3. I actually dont think he is "Stupid" just Unfortunate in the fact that he got caught.
4. I am not sure what tires he was running, but I hope he knows that some tires arent good for that. Wasnt it on here someone blew out at the track? Different circumstances yes, but it put me in check knowing how vulnerable they are.

My highest speeding ticket was only 92 in a 70. I managed to slow down quite a bit. Why was I in a hurry? I was on my way to jail. 
Luckily the cop called them for me and told them I was going to be running a little late.
Every one of us has driven stupid like that at one time or another so I don't see why everybody is calling him such a dumbass. I've seen videos from members here doing 100+ plenty of times. We didn't get caught and go on the news talking about it, but still.....
He must feel like a badass almost setting a new record and being on the news.
