I've never made one thread about the 3800, talked about it a bit on here when people needed info but thats about it.... and all in all I'm not impressed with the engine.

I like my 22re. It just needs some more power

Good thing they make plug and play harness adapters for Megasquirt. I think a Holset would suit it well.

id rather have a motor i know will make 400k, with enough power for DD, than have something that needs rebuild every time its due for a new air filter

going all season at near redline rpm's and not rebuilding, 22r > honda
Nobody ------- cares.

300hp n/a on 2.4L is like 125hp per liter.

430hp n/a on 1.8L is like 238hp per liter.

Not only does nobody care, you're ------- stupid. 22r motors and trucks in general suck *** for going fast. Get over yourself, your motor ------- sucks just as bad as you do. My great grandma's Sunfire is cooler than your truck, and probably faster too.

22R's are great when stock, the couple I've seen built like to ---- rod bearings if you sustain 4K+ rpms for any length of time. That might have been a reflection on the builder, but he seemed like a smart guy.

I'm pushing 300K on my D15B7. Maybe I should change the oil?

It changes its self when it burns and you put more in.

im kinda starting to like the 'omg high revving car engine vs omg torque truck engine' debate starting up once again.

closed deck vs open deck, rs ratios, 8v vs 16v, sohc vs dohc, applications are nowhere near the same.
stock power vs stock power, itll rival a d14 or a d15 if it was fresh, but hauling around a 3400lb truck with 300lbs of tires on it and aerodynamics similar to a cement block, it does it's job fairly well.

who the ---- i said i wanted to go fast? noone.

hp per liter was never a stable arguement with honda.

hp vs stock hp was what i used. merely 3x. 3x the stress it was designed for.

JD i've never heard the rod bearing issue before, maybe i missed something?

i could care less if i make 400hp. im building a ------- turbo kit for a carbureted truck engine because i can, and want to benefit the masses with the trial and error methods going to take place.
