It re-animates the stagnated airflow that usually ends up over top of the rear wing. Yes, it is functional, testing done by Mitsubishi shows a 33% increase in downforce using the vortex generator as compared to leaving it off. I did actually feel a difference once I put it on, especially on the highway. It became more stable at speeds over 80mph where as before it would start to "float" a little through turns.

Thats cool that you did some work on it. The block on that car is worthy. I like the EVO a lot, Ive ridden in one that was worked and I can say that I felt the G force in my chest. Pretty impressive.

Hey! Good to see you still around after Chris's dyno day, you're car did pretty well on there if I remember right.
Yeah, the newer 4g63t's have all of the bugs that plagued the older versions finally worked out of them. A lot of Evo guys are hitting consistent 500awhp on stock blocks with just turbo and fueling upgrades. As for me I'm pretty much coming to the limit of this turbo, so perhaps either a gt35r or a PT-61 might be in it's future.

do you live in a third world country or something? lol. Very nice evo, One of my car choices when i was looking. I ended up with a different 4 dr . Are snow tires necessary on that thing?

Yeah, snow tires are a mandatory for these in the snow, especially considering the Advans I have on the other set of wheels which even suck in the rain. The car handles very well in the snow with proper tires, but without them forget it...instead of 2 spinning skis now you have 4. :P
