a little mazda help here......

anyone that might know 2 shits about mazda's help me out here. is there a swappable part for the 1991 1.8 liter 323 for a turbo manifold? I know that the 626 was turbo, but it had a 2.2 right? will it fit with a little modification?

The only thing I can confirm is that the 626 or mx6 use a 2.2 turbo engine, I don't have a clue if it'll fit the 323.

mx6 has a turbo engine?

yep 88 to 1992 MX6's were, but not yours, the newer style 93 to 97 I think. The newer style had a crappy V6 as a replacement for the "fast engine", Those turbo MX6 are fast as hell, there's one here running 12's

Oh yea....I'm retarded. SORRY! lol

"crappy V6 replacement" is right! those engines blow balls. horrible design.

Re:a little mazda help here......

apparently there's a 1.8 turbo manifold (bpt/bpd) you can swap.

Actually the J-spec KLZE V6 was no joke...somethin like 200 hp+ and gobs of torque. The reason why they suck in the U.S. is cause they stuck the crappy Ford version in it...although you can turbo the ford motor up to 12psi safely.(I know this cause i've done this ;D) That's the only way those slow ass things move anywhere 8)

Re:a little mazda help here......

the klze only has about 197 to 200 (maybe a few more) hp. usdm has only got bout 160 somethin. and yea they got more torque than the usdm, but they're still slow. 14.5 1/4 mile with intake and the jdm ecu. *shrug*

Yeah you can use the mazda GTX/GTR manifolds...I know cause im setting up a turbo Escort GT with one of the mazda 1.8's. You can get the manifold from www.corksport.com for $176.
