so what block filler did you use and WTF were you doing while your motor ate your pistons and valves?

beau is notorious for raping motors hardcore.

dam that really sucks beau, so looks like that motors fucked, time to start over? how come theres no water passages for the head in the block filler, and now that the motor is gone, give us some info on your build man, sucks tho, i love that car, so tell us your plans for the next drag motor? have fun man, and this time get aftermarket valve springs :P maybe sleve it, but it seems like it did fine filled for some time, so u selling any turbo parts lol :-\

eh just grind down those edges on the piston and re-use em :)

there is holes in the block filler the block is fine all in all a set of pistons would be the expensive part of the fix the head should be fixed in a week or two

That thing held together forever. Really not that much damage has usual when valve droppage occurs

Re: the little b16 that "almost" could R.I.P.

dam, u can fix that head? u gona like weld where the valve cut threw and machine it and ----? so all ur gona do is rebuild it nothin new?
i belive he has a custom mad tyte very secret filled block, eagle rods, wiesco pistons, and a few other things, w-a intercooler and yes a big t4 i think... but ill let him tell u everything

Sidenote: how did that drain line work? ???

Runs to go play Thuglife's "pour a lil liqour". Atleast the block is still good. Hell just take the pistons and machine the tops and toss em back in!

Heck yeah, that thing took quite a bit of abuse.

I'll be looking forward to the next build ;)

Beau has had that b16 since high school, in fact he did his senior project on "how to do a b-series swap in a EF" with that same engine. It's been beat pretty hard over the years, and I'm pretty suprised it has even lasted this long, but I think its time beau wipes the dust of his c5 and get the 2.0l going for next year. ;)

Sweet virgin b16a didnt know 33psi, 26 degrees of timing and 9500 launchs on stock valve springs was gonna be hitting it so hard. ;)

you forgot the part where he already blew this motor up once...think it broke the ringlands off every piston right?

HMT-Admin 08-31-2005 03:41 AM

Re: the little b16 that "almost" could R.I.P.

eh, for some reason I think he blew ring lands twice?

I still say machine off the tops of the pistons and get her going again.

Nah, might take a little too much material out of 'em. I say bead blast off the oil residue, and hit the piston with the torch to flow the high spots down smooth. Massage the flycuts with a Dremel. Turn boost up higher, rev to 10K.
