So, its been awhile since I've been to "the jerk" (the name of our street racing scene) in my red car. So me and my buddy travis were heading to the first track, and ya know.. my car isnt really that fast but I was pushing it pretty hard, about 110-115ish and all of sudden BAM!!!!! all I ------- see is BLACK, and my windshield is black!! hahahaha, my brand new carbon fiber hood let loose, One of my hood pin mounts (yes mild steel) broke right in half, and the other side ripped right through the carbon fiber. the Hood was destroyed, broke the windshield, knocked off my rear view mirror, garage door opener, ---- was flying everywhere!!! There was no warning at all! So I pull over on the freeway,, I wasnt really mad or anything, just a bit shocked and kind of embarressed, But I thought it was pretty funny. So luckly this guy pulls up behinds us with a truck (apparently he ran out of gas) and let me borrow some tools, I took the hood off, and was just going to leave it on the side of the freeway, but I think he took it, LOL, the thing was destroyed. Drove home with no hood. So, looks like I need a new windshield and hood.

I ended up getting the "higher quality" hood pins than my other ones too. Not sure who the carbon fiber hood was made by, I got it from a friend, It was pretty cheap so its not like the end of the world. Kinda sucks because I just threw my stock hood away the other day.

I use to always laugh at people that had this ---- happen to them, and now I'm laughing at myself.. lol

I think the "Rice Gods" spoke that night.... No rice on Jeff's car, so definatly going back with a stock hood ;)

I'm just glad nobody got hurt.. it could have been way worse.

lol, i was wondering what happened to you last night. I saw you parked on the side but couldnt stop fast enough cause we were hauling ass. Then some guy down at coulon said "Dude, did you see that red CRX, his hood flew up while he was driving." And I put 2 and 2 together and guessed it was you, so we went back but you were gone. You didnt miss much that night.

That sucks jeff but things happen, I'm really not overly fond of hood pics. I realize with CF hoods though there really isnt another option.

I'd be pissed because I couldnt afford to fix it but thats just me :)

hahahha i thought i was the only ass hole to do that. mines actually not an accident its out of pure stupidity...i just didnt put the pins back in but nothing happened to my hood except for a little crack but my windshield was toast whatever...that sucks bro i know exactly how you feel

what hood? i run a vis w/o hood pins, but the latch is really beefy and i check it very often to make sure the cf isn't cracking. i've been debateing getting some locking hoodpins.

yeah well i had a hood when my car was first painted yellow, 3 days lateer my best friend ran the front of my car over with his moms blazer. so i know the feeling. i looked in the driveway and the ------ hood was mashed. it causes momentary sadnes but on the bright side a new windshield for my car was ony 136 bucks and they came and installed it. i had a fucker wack out my windshield witha padlock on achain before while i was driving. needless to say i was charged with assault as i continued to beat the less than white individuals face in. well anyways dont mess with these gunshttp://www.imagestation.com/picture/...7/fbc65ce1.jpg
