Default Linux nerds, I know theirs a few of you.

since i found i can port Photoshop over to linux I want to change over. I dont know what distro i should get though. Windows Media Player 10 was about the last straw.

I was thinking about either runing Redhat Fedora, or Suse. I want to know if im going to have any problems with my system or no, here are my system specs as of right now.

MSI k8n neo 2 platnium motehrboard socket 754
amd 3200+ 64 bit processor
1.5 gigs of ram
sata hardrive
nvidia geforce 6800gt.... wondering if I can still run unreal 2004. it says its compatable with linux. im just not sure if its going to give me ---- or not.

I was also wondering if im going to come into any driver problems. Expecialy with the nforce 3 250gb chipset and my nvidia ethernet controler thats intagrated into the motherboard.
I have other ethernet cards lying around if its going to be an issue. Does anyone have an awnser to any of these questions? thhhhhhhankyhahhhhhh

I don't think you should run into lots of problem, but don't quote me on that though. you can always recompile your kernel to add support to what is missing or upgrade to the latest kernel. Best way to know is to try. As far as distro, It really comes down to personal preference because nobody will agree on which one is the best distro out there, they all have pros and cons.
So far my favorite distro is slackware, plain and easy to configure and fast too. Redhat got greats guis for system configuration and make it easy for somebody new to easily get used to linux, but I found it to be a little slow. Also mpg and mp3 support were removed on redhat for licence issue or something( it can easily be work around). On the redhat product line, I will recommend RedHat Linux Enterprise (or CentOS which is a rebuild of redhat enterprise linux and it's free) over ferdora, simply cause it's stable.
Don't know anything about suse, haven't tried it yet.

I recommend you try www.ubuntu.com . It is based on Debian and is the most user friendly distro I have seen. I used to run the RH distros (including mandrake) and I really like Ubuntu the best.
