Default a lesson in growth based economics

I had a wrecked 91 civic si for sale:

this is email correspondance with an individual who thought i was in a hurting for cash...

From: paulwright1@comcast.net
To: sale-401006054@craigslist.org
Subject: wrecked 91 SI hatch - $500
Date: Thu, 23 Aug 2007 21:177 -0700

$500 seems pretty high for a car that needs some pretty extensive work on the front end. Will you take $150

Paul

when you decide to lower it to a reasonable price then let me know and maybe other people will be interested in it. Ive found plenty of swaps that I could get the whole car for around 500 and there no where near the shape that yours is in. Im not some young punk kid who will fork over 500 for a piece of ---- so when you decide to sell it at a reasonable price then I would purchase it from you.

you must be a punk kid... there is no other way you could think a complete and stock 91 SI that runs and drives is worth less than $500(minus the front end collision) oh, not in a hurry to sell, so i can afford to hold onto it. and if YOU want to change your mind and get it from me, your price is now $600.

ive been in the import scene for about 15 years now so Im probably quiet a bit older then you and Im sure I have more knowledge then you when it comes to the value of a car with a swap. Only some young dumb punk *** kid would try to sell a car that is not worth more then $200 for anything more. Ill still give you $150, so when you realize that your price is way to high then let me know and I will take if off you hands.

ok man, check the add again. you might be surprised

(I edited the craigslist add to say; "If your name is Paul Wright, you can't buy this car.")

ive already emailed craigslist and they said they are going to remove your add and not allow you to post again so go ahead and put what you want but it just proves my point as to who the young dumb punk *** kid is.

the bottom line is: what something is worth to you does not mean its worth the same to me.

i have no problem holding out for what its worth to me. what its worth to you is irrelavant. jackass

---

That's the lesson kids. buy low sell high. And craigslist didnt remove my add.

"the car is for parts only, which all parts are great. the price is firm. deal with it" <--that would have been my last email. I'm not sure why he felt the need to email you so many times. Maybe he thought he was gonna talk you down. When I clicked the thread, I thought for sure the happy ending would be a low balling douchebag buying the car for the asking price.

If I was a movie critic, I would tell people not to see your movie.

You should have told him it's his for $150 and when he comes to get it, kick him in the nuts and tell him to kick rocks.

Any ------- car that starts up and drives is worth $500.

Not actually. The neighbor had a 96 626 with a fucked tranny that he gave away for $150 last week. Runed great.... the problem was that every 626 at the junk had everything but the tranny, so that basically meant fixing it wasn't worth the time.
