the official dates are friday the 17th through sunday the 19th. that means we should all be in vegas most of friday, all of saturday, and for as long as you can on sunday. i'm probably gonna get into vegas on either the 15th or 16th just because i want to be there for more than one full day.

the group rate thing was already looked into when this whole meet idea was brought up. it wasn't looking too promising from what i remember.

on another note...airfare is expensive as ---- to go from seattle to vegas. it's rediculous. the nw crew keep talking about renting an rv, but if nobody does anything about it, it's not gonna get done.

and hotels...they're expensive as ---- too. at least the ones that show up through the airlines. to get anywhere on the actual strip means you're getting up into some good lumps of cash. i posted earlier in the stickied thread that i could have my airfare and hotel for three nights for a grand total $420. that's not bad, but the hotel i was looking at isn't on the strip. it's south.

i know jeff would like it if everyone could stay in the same general vacinity (on the strip) but even he was surprised at the cost of hotels and airfare. it's just because of the time of year we picked to go. and because it's on the weekend. check out prices for stip hotels durring the week days and compare them to the prices for the weekend we'll be there. some places jump 100+ dollars from one casino to the next going by price. and it's right as you get from hotels that aren't on the strip...to the ones that are.

Yeah, I definately don't expect anyone to stay at the ritzy high priced ----. There are small hotels just off the strip that would probably work out well. I can't remember the name, but me and Craig stayed at this little hotel for SEMA that was really cool. They had a little casino and a bar that had $.50 beer all day, everyday. That would be a fun joint, I just can't remember the name.
There's a really ghetto hotel just accross the freeway from xcaliber. It's ghetto as ----, but I think it's cheap cause thats where my cousin stayed and I know he's broke.

Also, San Remo is an older place. It's fairly large, but it's old. So the prices might be better. Next to San Remo is the ultra classy Motel 6. (Aint no shame in dis game)

find out the name of this hotel you speak of. sounds like a good deal for being close and cheap.

ya'll better make sure that you get 4 to a room them. otherwise your price just went up. and don't forget about airfare too

i just went through priceline to check out some prices. airfare and hotel (at the sahara) comes to a grand total of $789 bucks for the dates of june 16th through june 19th. (i did the 16th because with priceline you don't know the time of your flight til later, and i didn't want to be getting into vegas at 110pm friday night)
