LAF livestrong arm bands

Has anyone seen these arm bands around anywhere?
https://i18.ebayimg.com/01/i/02/d0/fb/9b_2.JPG
I was looking for a couple, and every place that sells them close to where I live are sold out!!! I got two off ebay, but I can't believe the demand for these things..

If you don't know what they are for, it is for the Lance Armstrong Foundation. The money is supposed to be used for cancer research.

Most of my family members have had cancer, so it has impacted my life pretty much as long as I can remember.

On a less serious note, when I got home from school (an hour drive) I had to make a new exhaust gasket. I bought this felpro gasket sheet which worked pretty well for like 3 months in between the turbo and the manifold.

After that, I went to open my door and my ------ door handle breaks!?!? What kinda ---- is that? So, anyone with a gloss black passanger door handle for sale.... grr.. ------ cold weather..

If the 'cause' is what is important to you than you should just donate to the livestrong foundation and not worry about getting a trendy wristband.

i do donate.. also to the american cancer society.

but, they also get people to ask questions and then they might also donate too.

i believe if you donate, you are given a wristband, so in a sense you are buying a wristband. but if you get more peoples interest, even with a little rubber thingy (that sounds sick) then isn't it worth it?

i have lost too many family members to cancer, so the more people that get informed about it, and help out to make a change.. that is what i am trying to do

I've lost 3 people close to me to cancer. I watched one of my best friends brother die of a brain turmor when he was only in 2nd grade. But people don't really care about the cause they just want the wristband so they can be cool. :-\

There's plenty of people with the wristbands on, and if there is a shortage of them than its better not to get one cause a shortage will prevent people from donating. So the right thing to do is just to donate the money and forget about the wristband

i agree with you whitey about just donating.

but one thing about the organizations that get donations, the best way for them to do it, is to get something that attracts attention.

its kinda like, when i ask for donations for the ACS, people are kinda.. well hesitant. but when i am doing the relay for life at my college, i tell the people that i will walk a lap for every dollar they donate. so they feel like they are getting something for their money. its sad in a way, for them to feel like they need something yes... but it works and everyone seems to be happy on the outside..

and i raise enough money that i walked 25 miles.. in one night... that was the only time which my legs would not do anything but tense up and hurt for like 2 days solid.. but it was worth it.

regardless if you are doing it for the wristband or for the cause, at the end its still for the cause.

I've seen those around and see them at foot locker and on the kids with cancer. One kid even joked that he is going to start a new wristband with "LiveLazy" as his own cancer foundation...

Anyways, cancer is not fun...
