She tried to call 911, but couldn't because the power was off. She got a shotgun and waited as the man began banging on the basement door. She fired when Preyer came crashing through the door. When Preyer collapsed, the woman escaped and went to a neighbor's home, where she called police. Officers, who arrived within a minute, found a bleeding Preyer stumbling away from the house. He was taken to St. Francis Medical Center, where he died several hours later.


"I will not be filing any sort of charge against this 57-year-old woman, who was clearly justified under the law in shooting this intruder in her home," Swingle said. :y

yeah, that guy that shot those beaners with a shotgun who were robbing his neighbors house while he was on the phone with 911 got off aswell. Justice is nice.

In the past year we've had at least a couple home invasions that ended in death for the culprits. One was in my apartment complex (which is one of the nicer ones) while I was sleeping.

Nobody gets charged.

Yeah but that guy clearly wanted to shoot somebody. he straight said he was gonna before he did it...like twice one on the phone and once to the dude he shot. He was a redneck with a gun and opportunity to use it and he knew it.

so whats the actual law about being able to shoot somebody that breaks into your home? my house has been robbed once then i bought a gun then while i was sleepign one night somebody tried to get in again but i had two chains on the back door. say i was to wake up while somebody was breaking into my house and shot them as they came in the door....is that legal? whats the law?

as long as you feel you are in danger, and the intruder was not trying to flee, you should be ok... and if you shoot to kill... its your story vs a dead guy...

You absolutely can shoot an intruder in your home. The prudent thing to do is attempt to identify them before you blast haha. Like if your drunk ass buddy is climbing in through your window because he doesn;t want to wake you up or some ----. Also, make sure you don't cap their ass with an unregistered gun or else you'll more than likely face charges on that, and it may look bad which could ultimately lead to you getting convicted of manslaughter or something.

I thing better safe than sorry though. If you feel threatened and the person obviously has bad intentions; pull that trigger nga! I personally would squeeze one off into a non-vital area if at all possible because even though they're a shitbag; it's still a death that you caused and you could be held accountable for it. If it's a big nig with a knife or something; shoot right in the forehead ahahaha!

def shoot to kill there was a guy here in dallas that was having his house robbed by a nig and he came out with gauge and the robber had a knife and the ------- home owner got stabbed and then the robber took the gun and shot his arm off and then stabbed a friend that tried to help him :3

Here in missouri there is a shoot first policy, meaning if someone enters your home you can kill them without first identifying them as a threat, I'm sure in California this lady would be in prison.

I posted this because its a perfect example of why gun laws are stupid and shows how you cannot always depend on the police to protect you.

I think in CA she'd still get off, but here you have to be in fear for your life and you have to be able to somewhat prove that. i.e. you cant shoot someone in the back unless you can prove they were turning around reaching for something.

from what i understand about the laws around here if you have cwp you can shoot someone who is commiting a felony and or violent crime. also if some one tries to rob you when you are in your car you can shoot them

I'm sure the guys neighbors were grateful. You sound like what Johnny would call a liberal(or is it a socialist...hmmmm??). If you break in someone elses house, you deserve to get your ass blasted. If it was YOUR house gettin' broke into, wouldn't you want your neighbors to do the same?? Maybe you've never been the victim of a home burgulary....---- sucks to come home and find out someone has stolen your hard earned possessions....

local cop here told me that you can shoot if the criminal is in the commencement of a felony, breaking into a house to commit a crime is burglary which is a felony in wisconsin. so if you feel your life is in danger any time someone is in your house, which i would, you can shoot. just make sure to hit them in the front.

oh and crx2211 what the ---- is an unregistered gun? and why would that have any bearing on anything even if it did have any merit?

Having drawn down a few times, think about the closure rate of someone at 20 feet jacked up on drugs.

You'd be better off NOT to draw a gun, toss the perp aside, then draw and double or triple tap to ensure DEATH.

Someone was killed here when they were drunk and locked themselves out or some ----. Climbed into the wrong person's window and was shot/killed.

No charges were pressed.

Georgia has the "castle law." A crackhead broke into my dad's house a couple times. He asked the cop how far he was allowed to take it, and the cop told him "just remember you felt your life was endangered."

i think gun control is gay, because the only people that follow are the ones not doign anythign wrong in the first place so that just gives the criminals more power because they know others wont be armed. just like the "no gun" zones in schools. some nut job can just go pick people off with no worry of anybody firing back till the cops show up. horrible idea IMO.


know what you mean, i used to chip a decent amount of ecu's and make extra money doing it for people in town or sell them on ebay. when my house was robbed my Hakko 808 was taken along with spare ecu's that i would use for parts and enough digikey parts to make about 60 something chip kits. horrible feeling and would def do society a favor and drop somebody if it ever happened again.

i dont either. think about it, their criminals for a reason meaning they dont follow the laws. what would make them follow that one?

during hurricane katrina didnt they have some sort of firearm turnover to the police while things were crazy for those first few days? not sure if i remember right or not but i thought i had heard soemthing about that. i would think that would be the best time to own a gun, when people are looting and runnign around lawlessly.
