Kit to get into a car?
Ok, so i'm retarded, and I happen to be pretty good at locking myself out of my car. The guy from AAA that just stopped had an airbag that he used to force open the door more once it was wedged open a bit. Where can I get this? Or a kit with wedges and a good long tool for unlocking the door? And no, I'm not using it to steal cars, I'm not a O0

Re: Kit to get into a car?
the airbag and rod works great. i have unlocked a ton of cars with that.
here are some places to get them. the bag is like 30, rod is like 30 and up. you can usually get away without using the wedge http://www.hightechtools.com/ http://www.besttools.net/ http://www.lockmasters.com/ |

I'm gonna look into one of those snap on kits. i've done it before just using wedges I cut out of wood and a coat hanger, but coat hangers = ftl. They are too flimsy and you really need something stronger than is still somewhat bendable. And I should have a spare key in the wallet, but I'm borrowing my brothers car right now, so the spares are at my parents house :1 God I can't wait to get the ------- title for the del sol, so I can finish it, drive it to colorado, sell it for way more than a 15yr old car should be sold for, and buy a clean, rust-free eg hatch.

Re: Kit to get into a car?
I work at Napa. We have the different kinds of lock-out kits in a few books. We have both the air wedge/hook and then there are kits with like 16 different "slim jim" type tools that are designed for different types of locks and arrangements.
I have a nice "over-under" tool now. AAA guy dropped it into my door after unlocking the door. he just said ---- it and told me to keep it. It was -30* out. Something cool to have would be the AAA lock-out guide book. It shows how to open all cars and what tools to use. U can get outdated ones, like last years, cheap on eBay. Or just steal one from a tow truck. lol. |
Re: Kit to get into a car?
ive bought a couple of these kits at tool flea markets and such...hell the indian owned dollar store in the mall near my house sold slim jims and lock out kits for about a month, then the police or someone made them stop. bought one from there too. >:D

Worked for me until I was on a 400 mile roadtrip and place my wallet in the console. The truckstop I was @ had slim jims (not the kind you eat) but that didn't work. So used two large flat headscrew driver and my arm. First I manage get the window to slide about a 1/2". Then wedge the two screwdrivers between the window and the frame. Pry the window away from the frame just enough wedge my arm in and unlock the door. By the way a lot easier to this whith help by yourself sux. It was about 105 deg. F that day which made it a little easier as far metal flexing |
