Kill Switches
 

I'm finally to the point where I'm about to take my car out on the streets (after it being in the shop for a year). I've thrown on a decent looking body kit, lights, and pretty soon a turbo kit. Knowing my luck I'm sure someone would try to steal it. So........was thinking about making a kill switch. Anyone have some ideas (hiding it, nice ways to rig it up...etc)?

This isn't exactly the same, but I put razor-wire all behind my head unit. Yea, they can steal it, but they will lose a finger or two.

My original plan is to use a bear trap, but everyone advised against it, saying it can go off during a bumpy ride and ---- things up nicely. Seemed like a great idea at the time, razor wire is better, just manage your cables, so they dont chafe the razors, if your wires will go bye bye.

Put a switch (with key if you're hardcore) under the seat that blocks the fuel pump / or ECU if you're speaking about theft of the car.

when i parked my car in th e bad neighborhoods... i would use that autolock thing that goes on the clutch... an alarm... unplug the ECU fuse, disable the fuel pump... but if someone really wants your car... they will take it with a tow truck... so always put the parking brake, and leave it in first gear... but if they really want your car... they will take it... but its nice to know it put up a fight... better have full coverage...

Well, there are those hardcore people who will stop at nothing to get a car, so I tend to stick something in the tail pipe as well as take the battery out. I couldn't figure out why they throw handles on those things until now.

because they can just plug that back in. you take the fuse w/ you and unless they bring a fuse they are ---- outta luck.

i really like the razor wire idea maybe put it around the the inside if the steering colum and near the alarm wires that would be sweet.

nah, the best would have it so your car shuts itself off after 5 min and then locks the doors and the theif in. He's a sitting duck until the cops get there, lol.

The best antitheft device i have ever seen was sort of unconventional, just like some of your guy's ideas.

There was this truck that was parked at a homedepot... and when i walked by it.. wouldnt you know a fuckn rottweiler starts barking at my ass.... damn that beast was scarry... good luck trying to steel a car with something like that inside...

I got my stereo jacked from my truck a month ago (about 5 grand in amps and damage) at least i had full coverage. They got everythin but the subs and came back for the subs the next day(but i took them out already). I saw them out there that next day and me and my friends followed their ------ asses back to their ghetto shack. But all we had was a maglight and a baseball bat and they prob had guns soo ... i called the cops and i know at least one of them is in jail now but i will never see my stereo.

on my car im gonna get a removable steering wheel b/c full coverage isnt worth it, and i'm movin out of this ghetto town for that very reason. btw NOONE ever take any vehicle you care about to Flint Michigan. My truck was a show truck and was awesome it is totally fucked now i have to spend at least 3g to fix it and thats without the stereo.

I like the razor wire idea.. or maybe hookin up a 1 farad cap to zap the ---- out of them.

a 500,000 volt discharge will render the would be thief unconscious for 3-5 minutes. of course you might need new upholstry, 'cause they'll loose control of bodily fluids.

your brother is my hero. car theives ALL deserve to die. and i say that with a clear conscience. if someone had the balls to ---- with my car that i bought for $500 and that i put over 50 hours of labor into ALREADY, i would kill them, or at least make them wish they werent even born. the pain i would inflict on them is indescribable. ive owned 4 cars, two of them have had alarms, not including my crx, but if someone touches my car, alarm or not, ill find them, and they will die

i wired a kill switch to my starter... the wires are underneath the drivre side dash... then just hide the switch somewhere... only when its on can you start the car...
