k24 prelude?
i'm moving in with my boy from work, and he has a complete k24 swap sitting in his garage that he got from work. he said he is either going to sell it or give it to me, hopefully for free seeing as he got it for free.. all it has is a blown headgasket, he said it had a warped block and took it home. my prelude will be delivered to me around september with an f series to make it across the country.
so ever heard of it? do they make mounts? |
Re: k24 prelude?
never heard of one. what generation prelude?
|
Re: k24 prelude?
tis a '93
|
Re: k24 prelude?
I don't think they make them for your specific car, only for civics/crx/integras. I could be wrong though.

Re: k24 prelude?
insert engine into bay. grab MIG. fill space with weld
|
Re: k24 prelude?
I think hasport makes the mounts to put it in an accord try there

Re: k24 prelude?
That's pretty nice. Too bad those ludes still go for quite a bit.
|
Re: k24 prelude?
preludes suck, honda made a good plan when they decided to make a rwd-lookin-car front wheel drive
|
Re: k24 prelude?
i agree, the prelude definitly should have been rwd. i was just looking at that black one last night.
so i think i'm gonna do it. why not right? i have pretty easy access to a k20 head if i wanted. and a garrett t3 will be arriving with the car. if you happen to stumble upon some mounts, post up please. |
Re: k24 prelude?
Just curious...how do custom fwd axles cost if you bring in both axles you want converted? LIke for this setup the K-series axles and then the H series axles? I have another idea for a swap but it'd still be a FWD setup so that's why I'm curious?

Re: k24 prelude?
Just sent them an email on axles that would allow a 4G63T to be used in a Volvo 850. Screw that wacky ass 5 cylinder.

Re: k24 prelude?
I'm not into Euro trash but I really miss my Volvo and know the guy who has it now and it's still just sitting in his yard with a warped head. Plus I've started to rub elbows with guys loaded with 4G's for cheap. Hmmmm That's why I asked about the axles cause there's more then enough room.
|
Re: k24 prelude?
why bother putting a K into a lude?? H22's make the same power, can be had for cheaper, and bolt in no sweat. you can save all the xtr-a dough you just spent on mounts, K-poop, engine/trans, axles, etc etc etc and boost that ----
|
Re: k24 prelude?
That being said, why waste your time on a Prelude. Heavy pieces of ----.
|
Re: k24 prelude?
i waste time with preludes because civics and what not are a dime a dozen. you dont see, atleast i dont, that many preludes compared to civics.
i'll bother putting a k in my prelude because when was the last time you saw one? aside from the pictures above. h22 are basically stock in all ludes nowadays. they're cool and all, but i want something more original. joo know? |

Re: k24 prelude?
It seems like there are no honda fans, just "civic" fans. The car is dope and that swap is completely different from the usual k20 in a hatch. Go for it then boost it :y

Were saying its a waste because it doesnt have any HUGE advantages over a H series. It also has a huge disadvantage being the cost. I guess doing it for the 'wow' factor, but 99% of us here say ---- the wow factor, we just wanna go fast for the cheapest price possible. And we welcome any turbo car, no matter what it is. Or any car aslong as its fast or the person has ambitions to make it fast ( granted they must post porn). Look at some of the hackjob turbo setups on here that aren't hondas. Everyone loves ghettoness, no matter what car it is on. So my point being, Going fast for cheap > going slow for expensive + wow factor.

Re: k24 prelude?
You're looking at kit prices, Edsel. I just picked up a GT45R, new, for 500. Total car will run 6000 and run 8's. Mmmmmm sweet foxbody lovins :)

Re: k24 prelude?
true, but when its all said and done, a rear end is still going to run me 3k

Re: k24 prelude?
You pick the wrong parts.
Everyone is Ford 9" crazy, nothing wrong with the 8.8". |
