k24 prelude?

i'm moving in with my boy from work, and he has a complete k24 swap sitting in his garage that he got from work. he said he is either going to sell it or give it to me, hopefully for free seeing as he got it for free.. all it has is a blown headgasket, he said it had a warped block and took it home. my prelude will be delivered to me around september with an f series to make it across the country.

so ever heard of it? do they make mounts?

I don't think they make them for your specific car, only for civics/crx/integras. I could be wrong though.

That's pretty nice. Too bad those ludes still go for quite a bit.

Re: k24 prelude?

preludes suck, honda made a good plan when they decided to make a rwd-lookin-car front wheel drive

dai the flu 05-06-2007 03:25 PM

Re: k24 prelude?

i agree, the prelude definitly should have been rwd. i was just looking at that black one last night.

so i think i'm gonna do it. why not right? i have pretty easy access to a k20 head if i wanted. and a garrett t3 will be arriving with the car.

if you happen to stumble upon some mounts, post up please.

Just curious...how do custom fwd axles cost if you bring in both axles you want converted? LIke for this setup the K-series axles and then the H series axles? I have another idea for a swap but it'd still be a FWD setup so that's why I'm curious?

just contact www.driveshaftshop.com they should be able to help you with the info... I also agree with the prelude should have been RWD i am thinking about finding a 92-96 prelude and fabing a F20c in 1 with tranny tunnel and everything... shouldnt be 2 hard make custom mounts, drive shaft, & mount a rearend (id use either a Silvia or RX7 seeing the s2k rear's are weak!!!) other then that its all wiring, O and spring rates... Also i would tie the frame together for more support...

Just sent them an email on axles that would allow a 4G63T to be used in a Volvo 850. Screw that wacky ass 5 cylinder.

not really into Volvo's but would like to see this project!!! that would be a crazy sleeper...

Re: k24 prelude?

I'm not into Euro trash but I really miss my Volvo and know the guy who has it now and it's still just sitting in his yard with a warped head. Plus I've started to rub elbows with guys loaded with 4G's for cheap. Hmmmm That's why I asked about the axles cause there's more then enough room.

Racintweek 05-06-2007 08:58 PM

Re: k24 prelude?

why bother putting a K into a lude?? H22's make the same power, can be had for cheaper, and bolt in no sweat. you can save all the xtr-a dough you just spent on mounts, K-poop, engine/trans, axles, etc etc etc and boost that ----

USS 05-06-2007 09:07 PM

Re: k24 prelude?

That being said, why waste your time on a Prelude. Heavy pieces of ----.

dai the flu 05-07-2007 12:15 PM

Re: k24 prelude?

i waste time with preludes because civics and what not are a dime a dozen. you dont see, atleast i dont, that many preludes compared to civics.

i'll bother putting a k in my prelude because when was the last time you saw one? aside from the pictures above. h22 are basically stock in all ludes nowadays. they're cool and all, but i want something more original.

joo know?

you could make a 5cyl faster than a 4g for hella cheaper...http://www.rkautotechnik.com/9.html

It seems like there are no honda fans, just "civic" fans. The car is dope and that swap is completely different from the usual k20 in a hatch. Go for it then boost it :y

My ass you could make a faster 5cylinder. Those prices were stupid expensive. Hell even after the 550 price I got from the driveshaftshop to make the axles I'd probably still be cheaper. 600 for a set of rods. Sheeet I could get rods and pistons for almost that much. Eagle's can be bought for 300 and some Wiesco's are 400. Along with everything else. Take that RKautotechnik ---- and that wackass 5 cylinder and shove it up your ass sideways.

def original but untill you throw some dollars at the K (beside the swap) IMO it isnt making enough power over the H to make it worth while, but the trans is def a big improvment over the H

maybe you suck the cock. everyone knows this is a turbo site with an abundance of cars, mostly filled with civics. If something that is a honda and not a civic or crx, people say its a waste blah blah. Its really not that big of a deal, i was just saying.

Um. Not really. Were saying its a waste because it doesnt have any HUGE advantages over a H series. It also has a huge disadvantage being the cost. I guess doing it for the 'wow' factor, but 99% of us here say ---- the wow factor, we just wanna go fast for the cheapest price possible. And we welcome any turbo car, no matter what it is. Or any car aslong as its fast or the person has ambitions to make it fast ( granted they must post porn). Look at some of the hackjob turbo setups on here that aren't hondas. Everyone loves ghettoness, no matter what car it is on. So my point being, Going fast for cheap > going slow for expensive + wow factor.

Im not disagreeing with the point of the website, or saying that there arent other turbo cars other than hondas. I was just saying that whenever something other than a honda civic is brought up, people say its a waste of time and a sucky car. And as far as the point of the thread, yeah its going to cost alot of money and you could go way faster for way cheaper, i just thought it would be cool because ive never seen a k20 in a prelude before :-\. im all for cheap speed though :y

eh too much. Nitrous is an easier way, or heads and cam. A superchared or turbo ls1 would be ------ sweet though.

You're looking at kit prices, Edsel. I just picked up a GT45R, new, for 500. Total car will run 6000 and run 8's. Mmmmmm sweet foxbody lovins :)
