Re: k-sports suspension worth it??

get some omni coil over sleeves and some tokico blues, cheap and effective. spend your savings on beer

Re: k-sports suspension worth it??

My friends teg is riding on them, they are definately decent for the money, am thinking about rocking them for my next car, stiff but still a very comfortable ride I go for it, best in that prce and probably better than any sleeve style coilover other than the Koni yellows and GC which i rock and love ;)

Re: k-sports suspension worth it??

Spend a little extra and get some teins. Or get some gc and konis like loser said.

Re: k-sports suspension worth it??

I've got the K-Sports on my autocross car. They aren't bad, but I've had my problems.

One of mine is blown, and their support consists of a bunch of retards. I'm just purchasing a new coilover from them ($100) and going from there. I'm going to open up my dead one and see if a Koni insert will fit.

They are only single adjustable.
They are stiff, but take any 2.5" spring.
There is no positive "click" for adjustment, you have to count turns.
At least on mine, the adjustment is deep in the strut and you have to use their tool (a long allen wrench) to adjust them. Put caps over the adjustment holes in the front or they will fill with trash and you'll have to pull them off the car to clean them out.
Also, use antisieze on the threads for the adjustment collars. I'm fighting mine right now to change my ride height.
Degreaser tarnishes the crap out of the anodized coating.
The camber plates for the front are really nice.

Long story short, they were the best thing for my car, but I drive a Hyundai. I'm with the other folks that are saying sleeves with a seperate strut. For a street car, go with the Tokicos.

Re: k-sports suspension worth it??

---- tokico blues they are a little better than stock. they suck!
I have tokico blues on my car now. I hated them.
I have k-sport full system in my garage waiting for my car to get out of the paint shop to install them. the idea of getting full coilover system is to be able to adjust the dampening force as well as the ride height. k-sports 36 way adjustable, tiens 16 way adjustable overpriced. I have know idea what are the 36 ways but it just sounds good and its nice to know its there. but these k-sports are nice, and by bext week I will be able to tell ya'll about the ride quality.

again ---- TOKICO HP struts I'll sell them for $300 with some tenzo r springs

Re: k-sports suspension worth it??

i am not looking for an auto x car. I just want my car dropped without a shitty ride or paying 600. and i dont want lowering springs.

Loserkidwac 08-29-2006 12:45 PM

Re: k-sports suspension worth it??

You aren't going to get what you want for really cheap, the best ride quality will be from springs not sleeve style coilovers unless you get konis and GCs if you go with cheap parts you'll regret it, and Blues suck

Re: k-sports suspension worth it??

there is no point getting a full 34587way adjustable coilover setup for the street.

if you still want adjustable shox get illuminas w/ what ever sleeves you choose

89shithatch 08-29-2006 01:57 PM

Re: k-sports suspension worth it??

i dont mind not getting adjustable shocks. As long as the tokico blues dont blow out with omnipower coils and the ride isnt horrible ill be happy.

Re: k-sports suspension worth it??

a little while back I bought some skunk 2 coilovers with some tokico blues for 90 bucks. Hooked it up to the homie and car looks damn good with them too.

Buddy loves the ride. I took it out for a spin and it was fantastic. Hugged the ground like whoa compared to stock.

Re: k-sports suspension worth it??

its better to get the koni adjustables, I think they cost $100 more thank tokico 300% better, my friends have them with skunk2 springs. car handles great.

89shithatch 08-29-2006 03:24 PM

Re: k-sports suspension worth it??

well, you cant listen to what everyone says to do on the internet. There are financial limits for what i want. I still need to put a new motor in and ---- so some tokico blues and omnis will be alright for now. this car isnt my dd anyway. pce nigs

RedCavz 08-29-2006 03:55 PM

Re: k-sports suspension worth it??

i would go koni's and ground controls like someone already stated.

89shithatch 08-29-2006 04:04 PM

Re: k-sports suspension worth it??

hows the cavy coming. what about the dd cavy?

rudebwoy 08-29-2006 04:17 PM

Re: k-sports suspension worth it??

true you cant listen to what everyone says but, I have hands on experience on them. and I was also warned before I bought them that they were crap but I want to find out for myself. then 6 months later I am spending $600 for k-sports

but as you say you are on a budget. and I beleive the tokico will do for just a basic street car. even though I hate them they will be ok. but konis are in the same range

Re: k-sports suspension worth it??

yea, its not even my daily driver. It sees a few summer nights and some meets, thats about it.

Re: k-sports suspension worth it??

Blues are like stock replacements, I wouldn't expect them to last too long. I would just wait until I could afford something made to work on a lowered car.

89shithatch 08-30-2006 12:14 PM

Re: k-sports suspension worth it??

just bought kyb adjustables and omni powers.
