K series in a EF

Hey i was wanting to put a type s motor in my 90 civic hb, and i was wondering if anyone on here has done it or knows how hard it is, and does anyone know any links for like a how to???? thanks..

It's been done, but no one here has done it, or maybe one guy.....hum, not sure, but whenever you go from one completely family of engine car to another you will have some work to do. It might not be hard but it will be long and tedious.

Good Luck...

Re: K series in a EF

The install is almost as easy as a bseries swap. just need to cut a mount off.

jecu 04-07-2006 02:24 PM

Re: K series in a EF

maybe its just me but why would you want to swap in a motor that is worth 5 times the value of your car :l

Re: K series in a EF

Sleeper status maybe? It'd be fast for sure

Why not? We build with budget in mind, maybe he's not on such a tight budget

Re: K series in a EF

well im gonna take my dohc zc out and sell that and my turbo and i plan to put a k20 in with ITBs and have it done by mid summer

sailman 04-07-2006 03:00 PM

Re: K series in a EF

if you arent worried about budget why not just buy a newer car that will easier accomodate the motor? not worth it at all in my mind, stick to a b-series and save the extra money for a rope

Re: K series in a EF

I heard the D16Z6 will fit in an EF. Suppose to be fast with V-Tech too. :y

I mostly saw them in EG's but I'm sure it can be done. No way around the price of just the ESSENTIALS to get that thing going. And then you have the crossmember. ::) Ohhh the crossmember. :-*

Guy-Fast 04-07-2006 03:15 PM

Re: K series in a EF

ya then throw in the mounts 750+. Custom axles. Custom header. K-Pro because there is no other reason to K on a stock k20 ecu well there is another 4g's.

Wonderful. Sounds like a great idea to spend $9000 to run 12's ::)

BoosTedZSix 04-07-2006 04:38 PM

Re: K series in a EF

yeah its def a waste of money unless you can everything for dirt cheap. would suck to spend all that money and get beat by a built single that spent 1/3 of the cost

Ravage70 04-07-2006 04:40 PM

Re: K series in a EF

BoosTedZSix 04-07-2006 04:47 PM

Re: K series in a EF

yeah but in the end we're not wasting our money. His money let him do as he pleases. Wait till he gets walked by the built single :D
