I have an STD exhaust manifold for sale too.. snadblasted and painted flat black with high temp paint..... asaspicer is a local to me and can vouch for me... Isn't it true that if that backplate is not bolted down, the shaft will not move? I belive the clearances between the turbine/compressor wheel and the backplate are very small, so if there is nothing holding it down, the shaft will not move. I would try putting the bolts in and seeing what happens after that.
