Default Just got new car

Just bought a 88 hatc DX for only $200.00 . It's running, I drove it about 40 miles to get it home, no problems except for a lot of smoke comming out of the exhaust. The guy had told me that it needed a head gasket, I guess that makes sense on why is smoking so much, I took out the spark plugs and they were all full of oil. But, Who wants that motor anyways, right? , I'm thinking now what should I do with it, rebuilt the motor and do the DPFI to MPFI swap, get a d16a6, d16z6, ZC, or go with a B series. I have a homemade kit that I was going to use on my 97 EX, but I think I'll use it on the hatch, that's why I think I'll stay with a D series engine. What do you guys think I should do?
I will Post pictures later, it only needs a quick paint job and the front seat were all ripped out.

Sweet deal dude! 88 DX hatch brings back a lot of memories for me since that was the first car I ever had. I sold it to a friend's girlfriend and his parents live down the road so I still see it every once in a while. He just recently did an engine swap on it, but not by choice he did it because the original engine blew up. He wants to turbo charge it and I told him to check this site out so hopefully he will decide to do a custom setup and let me help.

Here's a picture of it...

id go with a ZC. They are cheap, more powerful other then the b-series. Besides.. the cost of re-building the d15 and then moving over to a MPFI would be the same, if not more expensive then a zc.

I was thinking of that 2, by the time I rebuild it and swap to MPFI I'd be spending a lot more than what it's worth. I want to stay d16, single cam or the zc. Would love a zc but don't even know where to start looking, or a d16z6. But so far the cheapest d16z6 i've found in the area is $600 for just the engine, no ECU, trans, or anything else. I live in Florida, between Orlando and Tampa, I'm sure there are places around here where I can get a better deal, or even a ZC. Thanks for the input.

ok.. well u dont want the trans that originally came w/ that engine. its a hydraulic tranny. you want either, the one that is with your current engine or the Si tranny. ECU you don't want either. It's an obd1 and your wiring isnt. That is why Im saying zc, ,less hassles then a z6. you would have to use an rpm activated switch for the vtec in a z6. Or you can get a zdyne. then your talkng more money... get the zc or a6 and you will be ok once you do a mpfi swap.

I was just thinking on that engine because I have a friend that just swapped on in on his CRX, he did all the work himself so he can help me out.
