This is where handguns really serve a purpose. If you rip into someone with a .308 or a shotgun, you are going to kill them most likely. With a smaller caliber handgun, they have a better chance of living.

Well you have that option with the hangun then. With a shotgun, you have a little less choice.

The instructor in my concealed weapons class told us that it's better to kill the guy. It sounds strange, but they say it's better that way and you have a less chance of them sueing you over it. They say empty the clip into the guy and aim for the lower chest because by the time you're on the last few bullets you'll be aiming at his head. God I hope they weren't telling me some bullshit.....
