well its getting closer and closer to when ill turbo my 96 hatch and i decided to dedicate a website to the progress as it comes along. iam very surprised that no one has bought this domain yet but i got it now. ill be doing my own hosting so i can rape my ISP even more than before. ill be raping my isp to the fullest extent with a chatroom. i need to put together another computer to do the hosting but that will come sooner than later.*** mike prices custom web server *** just paid a minute ago so its not registered just yet but i should be in less than 24hrs

my other domain will run out at the end of the year and i decide to get something better like a .com unlike the .net i had before and this is a easy to remember domain and it might become something one day. well see. iam price out another computer system right now and will use most my old components for my web/email server. once i get it setup ill let you all help me rape my isp with picture/video hosting.

www.apache.org www.dyndns.com you dont need a computer for a dedicated webserver. I run my server off my box dosnt even use any resources. youl be fine

I seriously hope you meant "separate" computer. ;)

You will when you start using more bandwidth. How many hits do you get per day using your primary computer as a webserver? Anything over about 300 and you'll be hurting.. unless you're running *nix on a really fast box.

unix/linux is overrated. its a good base os but no one who develops for it does a good job theres allot of half assed software. some of the ---- is good like apache. but then you have ---- that just tottaly sucks like xmms and the gimp and other ----. most of the distros suck. like mandrake. gnome sucks kde is allot better. i used to run a seprate box on suse for my server. but it made my room hot as ---- and it wasnt worth it. if your going to build a box for your server jsut go cheep. throw an msi board in it and a 1.8 duron or something it would run fine.

agreed. im using gentoo linux right now, its ------- great, ---- windows. people who talk ---- about linux dont know what the ---- they are talking about and are probably using the default install of some hand holdish distro like suse, mandrake, fedora/redhat... and even then probably couldnt compile a program to save their ------- life. rpm -ivh ::) . or even better, apt-get whateverthefuck :-X . get all of the plugins for xmms and then tell me it sucks. linux programs suck if you are lazy and dont know how to configure ----. either way that "half assed software" is way better than most windows programs that just ------- crash all the time. Mplayer ------- pwn3z windows media player. gaim rapes the ---- out of aim. firefox is way the ---- better than internet exploder. i would use kde 3.2 for a desktop any ------- day. also, i dont know how the ---- ONE computer OPERATING SYSTEM is going to make your room hot as ---- unless your room is a 3'x 3' box or you have some massive ------- server with 32 processors running without fans(yeah right). even then just open a ------- window and you will be ok.

anyways, if i were going to have a dedicated web server i would use freebsd (unix). freebsd running apache is the fastest and boasts the longest uptimes of ANY O/S for a web server.

w/e your all on unix/linuxes balls because its the cool nerd thing to do. if you accualy use it to do anything else but code and download files and serve a website. its a cool idea and all but you cant sit here and tell me that linux is the best os.. OHH i dont get ERRORS ohh but it doesnt ------- to anything ether its ok to have on a partiton but using it as a primary os blows ass. ---- using consle everytime i want to do somthing thats retarded. hwy dont i go take a tree grind it down into pulp and turn it into paper every time i want to whipe my ass. ill get right on that.
