Still have a hard on for my 89 toronado, but I will never go back to a gm after owning 4 gm cars that were about as reliable as an SSAC mani.

Planned obsolescence, look it up.

One thing to think about, Toyota has, in recent times, rivaled that of Gm in sales, revenue, ect. There are reports that some of the newer toyota models have had some quality control problems as of late....

Read these books: (if any of you read books) "Internal Combustion" and "All Consuming Images".., They are a good read.
you're an idiot.

anyway, all cars are gonna have problems. yes even hondas <omfg> have spun bearings at 110k, who cares. it happens to everyone, just bad luck. suck up the $500 (at most) and throw in a motor. telling you now, you'll regret the payments for that subie. but all your call in the end of course.

BTW saturns are known for this type of ish. I'm surprised the tranny didn't go out first. My saturn had like, 130k miles and had a new tranny in it
saturns made in springhill TN are known for that type of ish.

a g6 feels like its going to explode when you floor it. chevy trucks have spongy old man seats. fwd gm's sound like a blender for a starter, and along with anything they make. ford have shitty castings in the heads. toyota slipped quality control for new models, look at the tundra thread as of late. i worked at a nissan dealership somewhat recently, ----. the only recalls were altima rear subframes, something about a bad casting from a certain vin number, and leaky pinion seals on the titans/armadas. ill get a picture of all the recall replacment crates tomorrow after work for proof. i now work at a subie dealership. i've yet to see anythnig that doesnt normally break. sam, guy in the bay next to me, just did an inspection on a justy, 233k on the clock and a few years ago, all he's done was rotors. he's been inspecting that car since day 1.. all the techs have been working there since before 1990, cept the new guy, and me.

in short, american cars have nothing to live up to, other than being lower quality. why improve low quality, when you can't afford to pay the union workers to do it right in the first place?

cliff note....wife had shitty saturn before we got married spun a bearing at 110thousand miles.....have rope and will hang myself
Hmmm...What would McGuyver do? Stuff the journal with gum wrappers and use a bic pen to shim any clearances. Then epoxy your tounge to the crank and turn the engine over to verify the repair. Once complete, kick one of the supporting jackstands out. Problem solved.
