Jeff saved my car.

new to the site. have a 91 akkord and decided to do a simple swap in the engine bay. well it turned into a 3.5 month ordeal. i was at the point of almost donating my car to the local V.O.A. cause the shop that had started this project, said that it was an impossible wire up. called around for about a month, with no luck. then i stumbeled upon Jeff Frank. after a few little runs to the U FIX IT HONDA bone yard. Jeff had my car all wired up. he will be putting the finishing touches on the wiring. VTEC is not wired yet, but it is so fn cool to be driving my car. Jeff kicks severe ass when it comes to the honda scene. the car will be gettin boooosted by Jeff as soon as he can get time. thanks Jeff....... ;D ;D ;D ;D

Re: Jeff saved my car.

maybe the shop couldnt find a manual for aKKord wiring

Re: Jeff saved my car.

no, the shop just couldnt do crap. half the stuff they did was loose. brackets, hood, power steering,. what it boiled down to, is that they are a bunch of hacks!! took the car up to their shop yesterday to show them that what they said was impossible, had infact been accomplished. another kid has fallen victim to the same shop. putting a h-22 into a second gen integra hatch. now he is screwed, just like i was at one point.

Re: Jeff saved my car.

even though your spelling of "akkord" is retarded. and you missed the joke made by ravage. it sucks that there are shops like that. sucker kids in telling them that they can do ---- and just try to take them for a cupple grand. its bullshit.

Re: Jeff saved my car.

well...the harness he had in there + the engine he had in there....there really was no way to make it work. obd0 harness with obd1 engine if i recall correctly? something like that...i don't pay too much attention to honda ramblings since i don't own one. ;)

but jeff works mircales and somehow him and ted figured out a way to get one of those many wiring harnesses you had, to work with your new setup. glad you're happy with the thing. :)

Re: Jeff saved my car.

for somthing that was a supposed simple swap. becuase of the first shop, i am into it about 1,700.00. when if i knew the right people the first tym. it prolly would have been alot cheeper. but i asked Jeff bout NOS or a turbo, and he said turbo for sure. so after this sunday's BBQ, Jeff will get the car back to finish, and we will set up a date for the turbo.

Re: Jeff saved my car.

just an FYI...HMT now owns your life. you need to become a regular reader/poster, donate to the site, and sport a www.homemadeturbo.com sticker on your car once it's boosted. ;)

Re: Jeff saved my car.

LOL ;D This is very true,Yes between Jeff an I i think we could tackle just about any project that they said cant be done.
On the donation side of it thats why it is important for users of this site to contribute what they can so as to keep this site up an running.
Due to the growth of this site normal servers cant handle the amount of traffic so Jeff has to step up to the plate an pay for a good fast server.
There is a lot of info here for the DIY Honda people.Lets all help to keep it up an running.....Thanks all Cadracer

Cadracer 05-21-2005 12:21 PM

Re: Jeff saved my car.

Re: Jeff saved my car.

everything is the same just the plugs are different. i dont remember there being an obd0 accord :-\. i dont see how hard that swap could be. sheesh its plug and play and all you need to do is wire up vtack and vtec oil pressure. simple swap 8)

if you had read/quoted the rest of what i said after that then really, your comment wouldn't have been needed, period. :P i do not claim to know an ounce of anything about hondas. i just remember jeff standing there saying something about obd0 harness and a different engine and how it wasn't going to work. (or it was going to be a bitch to GET it to work) so :P kevin

Re: Jeff saved my car.

allz i paid to the shop was labor and parts, such as clutch, flywheel, and somthin else. only ish im having now is little gremlinz. one minute the windows work, next they dont. high beamz quit working, intermitant wipers, same thing. and i could be toatally wrong, the VTEC soliniond is not wired in yet, but the engine stutters a bit between 2g's and 3.4. at 3.5 it smooths out and feels like a mini VTEC kicks in. and then out of now where, the exhuast got way low and loud. i was worried but liked the new sound, and checked for leaks or breaks in the exhuast. and nothing, all tight and together. so anyways, Jeff is still wiring things up. so alot of these ish's may be fixed. just not enough umpf for me, so a turbo is the only way im going to be satisfied. but yes Jeff rocks!!!! hope you guys have a great meat and eat this weekend. ;D ;D ;D ;D

My friend paid $4k to have his 2001 Civic Ex turboed in 2001. It runs 6 PSI.... hehe my NA DOHC ZC could beat it. I would have accepted half that money to do it to his car now... you should hear his BOV it opens like 3 times when his AUTOMATIC transmission shifts as the BOV is way to big and doesnt have the pressure to keep it open for a single psssshhhhhh.
