Jeeps are made for anything. Landrovers are made for rich white guys to hunt lions in, lol. Nah i know they can be tough as well but my preference is Jeeps. Its the working mans 4x4.

there isn't any isuzu dealers around anymore, and theyre a fuckass to work on. starter contacts go (motor needs to be unbolted and jacked up to get out the starter), 4wd vacuum system is a bitch to work on, brakes hang all the time, mpg is decent (22 highway or so) and they sound awesome on a quality long-bodied glasspack. dana44 rear axle, and the front is isuzu IFS. the titan and armada use d44 rear axles too, so :1

Why would you consider either really - POS's from both sides of the pond. I am surprised that you are getting so many people saying "go Jeep". In my opinion they are terrible - Everyone I know who has, or had one allways bitches about the poor mileage and that stupid ---- is breaking. If those were the only 2 choices on the planet I would probably pick the jeep too.
If you were on here asking if you should buy a civic or a caliber most people would say stick to the civic - why would this be different? You should seriously consider an import 4x4 and if you have the option you should consider shipping one in from Florida. Some of the used suv prices there are insane right now - even if you factor in trucking it to where you live. I was ther a few months ago and saw a 2005 infinity QX56 with 20" rims for $12900!!!!! a 2001 mdx for $6600. Probably both ok with your "age appropriateness". Check out places speciallizing in repo's - many many available right now.

not sure about teh poor mileage. My 4.0 was like a solid 22 mpg on average. maybe 18 if only around town but in a 2004 Grand Cherokee I didnt think it was too bad.

Ihave had 2 wranglers both 93 with 4.0 and a 04 grand cherokee with the 4.0 as well and I couldnt kill either one. There is no Import anything that has a 4x4 that can even dream of holding a candle to a jeep. not stock.

and MDX and Nissan Q's are ---- for 4x4 passed those a BMW x5 and a sequoia toyota thingy burried last time i was out at Orgen Inlet in North Carolina, worst part was I was driving a Honda Pilot. My jeep was bone stock and I have never put it in anything sand wise that would bog it at all, the pilot made me Hella nervous when the sand got loose or much deeper than 6". A couple of times i knew if i stopped it was curtains lol.
