----, jail sucks!
i got locked up on the 14th last month and just got out today. all over some bullshit traffic tickets. the city i live in i had 5 driving while suspended. i had gotten behind on my "probation" payments, and they issued a probation violation warrant. i got rear ended and they ran my oln# and i had a warrant with them, and glencoe (where i used to live) for getting behind on payments with them, and a warrant in hoover (where my g/f was from) for expired tag, driving while suspended and "engaging in a speed contest" (which i won ). so i go to county. the next happens to be court day for my city, and i go to court thinking im gonna get back on probation. nope. i got 241 days. or pay the $1519 and do 30. well i didnt have the money, couldnt get it. so i went back to county. i sat in there in protective custody (im a former corrections officer). P.C. is 23 hour lock down in a single cell. it sucked. i had two books. the Bible and a stephen king's "the apt pupil". i can recite both books on command now.
i didnt get a phone call for 2 weeks. my fiancee had talked with the court clerk and she got the judge to agree to let me out for $1000, provided my p.o. would take my case back up. she talked him into that, too. then i got ahold ohold of hoover and they had a $1000 cash bond. and i only owed glencoe $270, and $15 a day i got it done with time served yesterday. so i talked my dad into getting me a loan for the money. but he could only get $1500, so i talked my grandmother into the other $500. i got out of county at 2pm today, and was taken to hoover, stayed all of 5 minutes and bonded out.
jail sucks ***. dont go. i learned to quit driving, or run next time.
on a side note, its fucked up that i could actually do 241 days for traffic tickets. i saw a old friend in there, who was in on his 2nd manufacturing of meth charge and only did 6 mos. on his second offense. i guess my driving is more dangerous than meth....

Re: ----, jail sucks!
i have always been kinda religious, just kinda agnostic tho. but no i didnt find "jail house religion". but i did have PLENTY of time to reflect on some things in my life i want to get right. mainly pay off all these damn fines (about $8000), and get my license back so i have a leg to stand on when i go to custody court. i have been putting my hobbies (racing and jeepin) before more important things, and i am gonna change that and try to be a more responsible person. im selling my jeep (anyone want a $1000 play toy w/ no title?) to pay my dad back, and my grandmother said i could keep the $500 she gave me if i got back in church. im prolly gonna sell my spec-v for something a little more economical. (it only gets 20mpg hwy...) go ahead and flame away....
blow me, i learned my lesson

jail sucks?
----, better cancel my reservation.
Fortunately, I got my thousands of dollars worth of traffic taken care of before going to jail. I have insurance, a valid license, an up-to-date tag, and no warrants. All I have to do is meet up with my probation officer every month until I pay off this $700.

i know I FUCKED up, but the judicial system is fucked when a traffic violator gets more time than dealers and manufacturers. they all get these 2year split 6month sentences and are out in a few months. and a broke ****** with traffic tickets goes to jail for not having money. and b/c he is broke and cant pay out of it, he loses his job, his home, and his car, all over being broke.
i did TRY to pay these people. just not what they wanted as fast as they wanted, i couldnt. all but one of the tickets (the hoover one) was me en route to work. thats about the only time i drove.
end rant....
