Like you said even if it doesn't run it sure does look good, it would make a really nice center piece for your living room ;) Some people use plants for home decor, some use shinny B16's

Will that mani with the ITB's clear the firewall alright? Might be pretty tight in there... :-\ But hey, if you can slap an engine together with shyt you had laying around... you can make that one fit in a car! When are you going to try it out?

If it's bored out to a 1.7L, you should try and get your hands on some b17 1.7L gsr pistons and rings, that might solve your problem?

B17A1 has the same bore as a normal Bseries its just stroked to 1.7L. If he was going to go through any trouble at all, he would've just gotten oversized OEM pistons.
