The ITB's really did help says the Ass dyno..

Well tonite I took off my homemade ITB setup and put back on the stock B16a intake manifold. It was a fun little project and went alot better than I expected, but it's time to sell these things to aid towards my larger project.

After Swapping on the B16a 1g Intake on, I figured I should probably change the oil too, since there has been no air filter on this engine for 2 months. Oh and baby was it black, deep black love. So its getting kinda late and parts left, so I got screwed there is no ------- oil in the shop!

Oh I found some oil all right..

75-90w Love, for my beloveyd Trailerpark B16a, Dont worry, I threw a quart of ATF in there to mix it up ;D hahaha

So, Overall thoughts of the ITBS compared to stock? I was a bit shocked when I drove it tonite with the stock manifold, throttle response wasnt as fast, the top end and mid range was all gone, and the cool noises that make ITBS neat was all gone too. I think for 225 bucks it was definatly worth it, and kinda a fun process. I couldnt tell you how much exactly the jeff frank ass dyno says, but I'd say a good 10-15hp was lost.

So... is the Trailerpark B16a done?

To Be Continued... :-X

Beau stops by tonite and brings this freakish beast of a manifold over...

Couple shots of early stages, its going to be used on his Joe Dirt ZC w/ a T3/04e 70/48 Turbo. We'll get some more pics later..

Possible Joe Dirt vs Trailer Park B16a phase 2!
haha

jeff you should make another dyno run against beau when he gets his turbo mani finished

The runners on that manifold look huge. When did you aquire that sexy radiator, Jeff?

maybe that oil fucked up the accuracy of your ass dyno

Why do you have exhaust wrap on the intake? Does it really make that much of a differance? Just curious.

that loss of 10-15 hp might be from that oil you used :-X

hey have you ever thought about a rear wheel drive honda project.. just curious.

or a 4X4 using a crv tranny and diff,
relocate the gas tank in the spare wheel compartment,

i would use a turbo ls to run it

Oh I'm sure we will, with alot better setups of course..

When did you aquire that sexy radiator, Jeff?
Few weeks agoish ? got it from a friend...

Nah, I changed the oil today and its no different.

The intake was all dented and scratched up, plus aluminum seems to absorb the heat alot of the heat in the engine bay, so it just helps.

Maybe if we had a shop of our own and alot of free time =)

ill bet the motor doesnt smoke anymore
lol, it actually isnt smoking too bad right now, and damn I missed my IACV, glad its back for the mornings heh..

Have the itb's been sold or are they going to be reborn on a slightly better platform. The baseline #'s were actually pretty good for such a simple b16. Would love to see some itr cams and maybe a ported head.

or just simplify the project with a turbo, produce 100 more hp instead of nickle and diming for 5 to 10 hp

Whitey you of all people should know sometimes its just for fun. Face it if it was about simplicity would you have two turbo's? I think your project was great, its something I would do but I also would like to see a b16 with big compression, big cams, big head porting, in something very light with a set of itb's.

Yeah but big cams, big compression, big porting means big money for very little power. I'm all for trying new things, the ITB's are ------- awesome but I don't think you should be dumping a shiload of money into something thats not going to go fast.

no more itb woes. whatever you want, from 1 injector to two injectors for each tb. even none. and they have fuel rails for them. just do it!

Its maybe because you dont understand that website, First off, after you add everything up, throttle bodies/velocity stacks/linkage/fuel rail, then somehow make some custom flange on your manifold to adapt to those things.

I added up around 550.00£ so, convert that to US.. $991.00 then add shipping probably $50-75 International. But, hey then when it gets here you still have to figure out how to attach a TPS and mount them to your intake manifold. ::)

Hell a full blown bolt on ITB kit you can get for 1200 bucks bolt on, or make your own like I did for about 200 bucks :P
