yes ive heard of the uss cole, but that ship was in port and was attacked by a ship loaded with explosives that blew a 40 foot hole in the side of the ship, it didn't sink.
destroyers have undergone extensive improvements since then and the rules of engagement are obviously reduced, i don't see starting war with a country because some boats dropped some boxes in the water.
