Lotta people around here bought multiple lots and put houses up in 04-05 because prices were on the upswing. Now, they can't sell em for more than a $60,000 loss on their part. Guess it depends on the area though. I know Phoenix is still going up, and anything near water will always be a good idea.

Northern Virginia. Land of mexicans and koreans. Beaners kill property values, and asians can't drive their way out of an empty parking lot.

No one knows. I bought FSLR just a few days ago, after watching it for a month. Yesterday, Cramer downgrades it to a sell. Today it gained almost 25% in value, right after they announced 1.2Billion in new contracts. What I gained didn't even come close to my losses on XM and Sirius Radio. No one knows.

Boost is right, buy land.

You guys all settled into the new place? speakin of land lol. Good call on FSLR. I try not to consider tech related stocks when they first come out, too volatile. Like buying BetaMax, even though I was barely alive for that.

I think once you hit the $400,000 net worth, it shouldn't be too difficult. I know some house flippers who don't have much money at all, but they know "old people" who have enough credit to sign their name to $100,000 loan. With a couple of these investors, he buys a property and flips it. The investors are guaranteed a % back on their money. Before the first mortgage payment is due, the investor recieves a check for their money in, and their % back. The moral of the story is, if you have the credit score to back yourself, a signature can make you money. I'd like to be the house flipper and the investor in 5 years. I think the hardest part to learn is all the legal tax loopholes that are available. I couldn't imagine paying money I didn't really have to just because I didn't know any better.

Money makes money. That first $100K in the bank is the beginning.

Still, a solid million is a hard goal in any time period under 10 years, especially with a modest income at best. And if you think about it, do you need to have a million in the bank to feel secure? Rather have a million invest in something like a CD for my future family, than just have it where I could spend it. But seriously, JSDA...
