I didn't watch the vid, but fyi most people do have a "chip" of sorts that's almost always with them that can be tracked. It's called your cell phone. And just because you don't have the GPS turned on still doesn't mean it can't be tracked. Only way to avoid that is to turn off the phone.

I don't think rfid chips are in our near future, but when it comes to the government they are power hungry ------s. I wouldn't put it past them. Look at all the electronic ---- in the arena of tracking consumer spending. They know exactly what sells, when, how, who's buying it and all that. Even IF they only use it to maximize profits, it's invasive.

Other than my cell phone, I reject anything to do with gps, tracking, mailing lists, credit monitoring, or any of that other bullshit. If I die in a car crash where onstar could have saved me, remember these last words....Go ---- Yourself.

Honestly after watching that video, the idea of having medical information on a scanable chip wouldn't be a bad idea. It's just the fact that it can be corrupted and used for something like tracking so easily.

We're in a really fucked up situation right now.

Iran is telling us they have set a date to flood the market with cheap, euro-based oil. We can't afford to invade them without sending us into a depression.

If and when they do that, our dollar will fail and we're looking at a depression.

Well, I can leave my cell phone behind if I was worried about it. What we should be asking ourselves is why has the government already approved the real ID act, which won't allow you to go into a government builiding, fly on a plane, and other things unless you have the new card. I believe the card will have rfid in it as well.
I have a drivers license for the state I live in. Other than that, the government doesn't need me to carry any new card with or without a chip in it.
