Re:Interesting article about engine break-in

That's how I rebuild my bike everytime. Warm up, cool down warm up, ass raping. When I say warm up, I mean idle through the RPM band, never letting it sit at a specific RPM.

My top ends last soooooo long and seem to hold power for longer than normal. I've got at least 50 full throttle passes up Competition hill in Glamis plus hundreds of hours of riding in the dunes, and in the desert on this top end alone. It's about time for a rebuild. :-\

haha, kyle and boost love rob.

Oh and the stuff on that article, I use my own revised version, very similar, to break in my r/c engines, yeah I know not exactly a 'real' engine, but I have NEVER blown an r/c engine and I like to get on the throttle too.

Re:Interesting article about engine break-in

basically, article says "don't listen to the manufacturer about break-in, your motor will last longer and make more power if you warm is up, get to about 3rd gear, and then do 11 runs to redline in 3rd gear." says the earliest you do this mileage-wise, the better. dunno if i'd do this, but his claims are interesting. and the bits about journal and rod bearings are pretty good too.
