insulating wrap

Default insulating wrap

my radiator hose charge pipes are really close to my turbo, i was thinking i should wrap that ---- with some of that metallic lookin insulation stuff, is this a bad idea? do they sell this for cars or should i got to the local home depot

It is a good idea to wrap the heat sensitive parts. A lot better than trying to wrap the turbo and manifold as the wrap usually doesn't last very long on a 800°C turbo

Should be fine. I have all my oil lines, power steering lines and brake lines that run on the exhaust side of my car wrapped in fiberglass insulation

Check Hiperparts on ebay, they sell this 1" thick X 100' roll of reflective thermal insulation, than a layer of exhaust wrap and then it has some adhesive on the back of it, I used it on my upper charge piping and under my hood

It was like $13 and is absolutely ------- perfect

what you should do is make a small gauge steel heatshield and bolt it to that hf mani using the 2 holes for the stock heatshield. Not only will your charge piping stay cooler itll bring your underhood temps down also
