any firewall that had a Net Eng guy worth his salt behind it will have telnet ports disabled. this is almost step one ....step 2 would be to lock the console port lol.... rather slick though.

What did you write that in? VB?

Re: instant messenger proxy

yeah wrote it in vb using winsock. 23 was disabled, but some normal http ports weren't. i used port 88.

lol Just knock until you push a door open eh? gotta love it when its just wide open. Co-worker wrote a slick little program using .Net 1.1 that keeps up with our servers. lists them all with buttons accross it for various things. RDP, CPU polling, Disk space yada yada. really pretty simple but still enough to peak my interest in it. I want to pick it up but im studing for my MSCE and i hate studing

Sprint call center network admins aren't the brightest bunch of folks. They also had a tomcat server with all of the network data on it, went to the login page and the default login/pass worked.

Re: instant messenger proxy

Im not real surprised. I jsut got sent out to Jersey ( biggest shithole ever) to truy and bring a Call center back from the dead. they had a serious virus out break and when I showed up these fuckers were doing IT ALL WRONG. some PC's with 2k some with XP, none of which were fully updated. they had production servers taht were bacily home brew boxes runnin 98 with like literaly 5-10 patches on it. I couldnt believe it. it was a damn petribot, if they had just managed to figure out how to use 1 of the 2 WSUS boxes they had on site they would have had this problem. Service pack 2 had the fix in it.

their DNS had 500 addys leased out and there were only 240 PC's ion the building.....they were using Ghost to shoot images to all PC's, good idea in theory but they did not clean anythign up. they pulled a compaq out of the box. loaded it with call center software THEN took their snapshot. all teh Compaq utilites were loaded on it... it was a nightmare.

We basicly rebuilt their network in 3 days. it was rediculous.

lol telnet, were you still on dial up at the time too ?

theres a easier way just use remote pc :) full screen control of your pc at home either through a webpage or through program your choice :)
