Everything was stock when he bought it. Do we need to get an aftermarket intake, or can we make this work as is? And should it go where the stock DV was or should it be placed further into the system?

Re: installing aftermarket bov in jetta
OP:
Volkswagen: Maf sensor reads/meters air coming in the intake, and the ecu decides how much gas to mix in. a BOV vents to atmosphere, while a DV vents post MAF into the intake tube so you don't lose any metered air, with the BOV casuing a mixture richer than the bass line on "eat my bozack". do you get it yet?
oh, with your lack of knowledgeabilities, you shouldn't have any stealthmode lyrics on your profile. anywhere.

Re: installing aftermarket bov in jetta
YOu and your friend are morons and need to go shoot yourselves or better yet
Step 1: park jetta in garage
Step 2: close garage door and ensure an air tight seal
Step 3: start car and wait for the majic to happen
P.S. Hyperboost makes a nice aftermarket diverter valve (diverter valves are more expensive) but it won't make any more noise than the stock one. If you want a BOV noise you need an aftermarket intake on the car whilst retaining the DV. Get a chip and you will raise boost levels and it will be louder.
