Yeh i know its not a true short shifter but you can deffinitly tell the difference.My brother and law has a stock civic and it feels different every time I drive his car.Some day ill get a b&m...

I bought one of those $15 ones off egay and I think it might be why I'm grinding gears. I don't remember if it did it when I got my car cuz i threw the shifter on there like a week after i got the car. I guess it could be the synchros too cuz it only does it at high rpm shifts, except when goin into third, when it does it anywhere over 3000rpm. Mebbe I should take it off and see if the grinding goes away.

i have a SS and its very nice.. its a suck ass brand Type_R or something anyway it was bought for low$ on ebay

But my friend had no luck and he broke his one like few weeks after the install :-\
maybe he was pulling to hard

Yes, it is your synchros, the short shifter is shifting faster than the transmission can keep up. It is not your gears, at least not yet.

the previous owner of my car did the old hack and re-weld job on the stock crx piece. needless to say it lasted 8 years for him. but 1 month after i had it it broke in two between the bottom pivot and the pivot ball. Atleast i was in a low enough gear (2nd) that I could still drive it to a shop.

stock new shifter was 115 CA$
solo shorty + ES bushings was 95 CA$ guess which i got? :)
