pretty cheap and it looks/feels just like hardwood. 87 cents a square, and the foam pad was kinda pricey.. overall had like 300 in it.

I'm a big fan of wood floors, even fake wood floors. The ---- looks nice and if you did that for $300 I'm impressed. Well worth it IMO. :y

EDIT: Clean up that nasty mess behind the TV. :S That ---- would drive me crazy. I wouldn't be able to sleep at night. :S

I spent alot of time ripping that ---- out when I put marble flooring in my brothers place. It was run under the kitchen cabinets and my brother didn't want to rip out the granite and the cabinets to pull it all up. It was a ---- to cut that ---- under the kickpanel beings as its like a laminate and liked to gum up and burn.

Anyway the reason we pulled it all up is besides the fact that it looked and felt fake to him, it warped and every seam was raised. Looked like ---- and wasn't very old supposedly. good luck

Yeah we have wood floors which I so like. The only shitty part is having to sweep everyday.

I've installed the Ikea version of this product in my bedroom a decent number of years ago. It's a much easier install than actual hardwood flooring. Overall, these laminate floors are a great bang for the buck and is comparable to carpet. It's really not a substitute for hardwood flooring though and I laugh when I watch TLC and they are installing these floors in houses they hope to sell for $600k+.

i worked for a summer doing flooring, pergo makes wonderful everything cept the edges of the floor that click together. aka hardwood laminate. baller big names = not worth it, there is dozens of lesser names that make just as good of a product. best bang for the buck was bruce flooring, i did my parents kitchen/living room with it, and years later, its still flawless

hardwood takes ------- all day. laminate, if you're not a hammer mechanic about installing it and making sure your grooves are clear, is wonderful to install.

sounds like the installer didn't put the foam underneath.. it's a floating floor, can't use regular paper.. gotta have the foam.

Wood floors are big out here in Minnesota, but I lean more towards my roots of tile (kitchen/bath) and carpet everywhere else. I think the mexican adobe huts impressed me too much in CA. It came out good though.

Jizzmeister, stop watching trading spaces. Red was trendy and out when the first person did it. I can't stand customers who think they're going to paint red everywhere because they saw it on TV. Yours looks fine, I'm just overall ranting about red ----.

Don't ---- on people that wear gloves. Do enough electrical and especially hvac and you'll want a new set of hands, even with gloves. Duct work is hell on the hands, the metal tape is the worst of all. That ---- will cut you if you look at it funny.

I like the stone tile in the kitchen/bathrooms with darker color hard wood floors everywhere else. On the other hand carpet feels hella good, I get tired of wearing my shoes at all times.

Why are you breaking laminate? It clicks into place and all you need to do is tap it a few times with a rubber mallet. Hardwood floor can be a huge pain in the ass if the boards are slightly bowed or warped. Is all of your experience with oak and pine? We did Kempas in our house. Jesus Christ is that stuff hard. We drilled pilot holes and tried to drive in 8d nails and they'd bend(first and last rows as you couldn't exactly use the pneumatic nailer at those points). It was such a pain in the ass to get that stuff to line up properly. Took some serious ingenuity to get things to install correctly.

I hear that. Put maple in a house and everything was done in 45deg angles to the walls. Hard to get the facenails in withoutbending them and marking the prefinished face. Plus wood naturally bends and warps so it's hard to get to fit correctly, especially because they're never exactly the same width. Nightmare but looks ------ amaizing now, wouldn't hesitate to do it again.

Real hard wood is a bitch, especially if it's warped at all. We just installed 3" x 3/4" oak in our house last summer. It took us three days to nail down two rooms because it was warped. One is 15'x15' and the other is 12'x10'.

I helped my dad make new cabinets and re-tile/carpet the whole house this past year. I'll throw some pictures up. It came out good, but the ------- cabinets in the kitchen were a pain in our ass. The original builders made the floor ------- slanted and with granite tops we had to get everything level. We must have put cabinets in the house, measured, taken them outside, shaved them, shimmed them, put em back in about 8 or 9 times. Came out ------- amazing though.

I wouldn't reccomend going bamboo flooring. Unless you have no pets, and take your shoes off everytime you walk in the room,

We did our upstairs hallway and dining room, and it went to hell in 6months flat, Sunfade, Dog scratches, every bit of water just warped the hell out of things, Plus the wait on the chairs at the dinner table,

The whole ------- thing is a wreck !

You know whats funny, i never noticed teh trend for red doors until someone pointed it out. a lot of people paint their doors red for no ------- reason. beige house with black shudders and a red door. I see that ---- all the time now.

Exact same here. House was built in the 60s still has original wood floors that look great. The red door ting is suppose to pull people in and make them feel welcome or some bs. They like to do it to sell houses. I just prefer a nice wood door.

I'm just about done doing our wood floors, about 700sq ft worth. It was $1.48 sq/ft and come to find out, its easy as balls to scratch. Learned my lesson. Next time I'm not going to go cheap w/flooring :( Looks pretty good though :)
