Install Air?Fuel Gauge, O2 sensor wire ECU

I'm installing an air/fuel gauge on my 2000 civic ex, does anyone know which wire is the O2 sensor wire. It said in the instructions that it's white with a black stripe but there is more than one.

there are two ways i can tell you to do this. one is ghetto but will work, one is the way your supposed to do it.
get the schematics for your ecu, helms. its the white wire with black stripe that is right next to the black wire on your o2 plug.
i also have a 2000 civic.

just peel some of the covering off. get some THIN sader and sauder a wire to the white and black one. then use tape to cover it up and run it nicely through the firewall.

you have plenty of EXTRA fuse spaces on your fuse box. tap into one for positive and then get a nice negative. as a matter of fact right next to where your drivers side door is at. there is a panel. pop it out and you will see the metal from the dash, that can serve as a good ground and its close to the guage.

the other option is to look at the pinouts from the ecu harness. disconnect the battery and then use that to sauder directly to the wire that goes into the harness plug.

then wire it like that.

Just like Ricky said, exaclty what I did, up to where I connected the ground. It works

Thanks guys! I hooked it up and its working fine but the meter is going nuts. When I'm driving it goes from green to orange to red, really fast and jumps back and forth in no certain pattern. Is this normal? I don't see anyway my mixture could be off because I didn't put my turbo in yet. I have put in the FMU, MSD, and fuel pump.

Rich/lean Rich Lean is very normal, the faster the better.

While under a load with boost, keep an eye and make sure it doesnt get buried red (lean)

its gonna jump back and forth. thats good. you wanna be at about 35psi idle pressue, maybe a tad less. under boost get a fp guage, you should see it raise with the amount of boost.

if you have a vortech fmu, there pretty good with raising it accuratly. usually a 12:1 will raise about 11.5 or so for every pound.

It will jump back and forth when the ECU is running in closed loop, with O2 feedback. When the O2 sense rich, it leans out the mixture, then the O2 sees lean so it richens the mixture.

When it goes open loop, like wide open throttle, it will run solely off of the maps and the meter will no longer fluctuate, but simply remain in the rich area, unless you have an HF or something else running wideband.
