Very flashy. If it was broken down into something more... errr applicable then it would be kickass, but most of that is just for show. Hence the big aditorium they were demonstrating it in. Still cool to watch.

i agree. how often does one have to kick through some boards ten feet above you. i can dig the round house and ---- though.

I have spent enough time martial arts (Judo, Aikido, and Jujutsu) to know that kicks are for fags.
Oh and dont ask if I can do that ----. Cause the answer is no. I would settle for breaking some bones. Much more effective. >:D

wow must be the typical high school wrestler here, how about a round house to the face then tell me and everyone else if kicks r for fags. breaking bones isnt effective jerk off its called submissions, things like brazilian jujitsu. ever watch muay tia fights? seen guys forearms broke when they've tried blocking but then again when the bones sticking out kicks must be for fags.

Kick's are incredibly effective. Maybe no those, but I'd wrather get punched than kicked if both are propperly executed.

I don’t want to get into pissing match over which is better. But FYI i am not a wrestler. I have taken striking arts in the past.(TKD and Shotokan karate) neither are that effective. Muay Tai has its advantages over striking/hard style of martial art mainly there ability to absorb blows, but when you get them off their feet the are about worthless. I have studied grappling(Judo, jujutsu, and aikido) for the past five years. I have also some limited exposure to Sambo with is knee locks and various cranks that are not allowed in Judo it provides a broad education.

Oh and yes locking joins, breaking bones, and chokes are the fastest way to win a fight. If you don't believe me, fine. Let see how long you last with an arm broken two places, or perhaps an ankle that has been dislocated.

Oh and BJJ leaves a bad tast in mouth. I have fought several of those guys at tournaments and they always get their asses handed to them because they don't know the rules involed in a TOURNAMENT and try to hurt people or perhaps they just on have any self control. A lot of the time its just poor technique because the their instructors suck. I personally had a BJJ guy try and break my arm after the ref stopped the match. I had him pinned, and the match was over and when I went stand and return to my line he used his legs to lock my arm up. He was thrown out of the tournament because of it.
Hansoku Make is not a good the thing.

Those guys wouldnt last 2sec in Pride or the UFC or any MMA fight for that matter.
They are skilled, I give them that. But if I am going to learn any style of fighting, its going to be something I can use in a real fight.

UFC is made fun of in by people by real martial artist becuase the techniques are poorly done. I have watch my fare share of UFC fights but I alway end up laughing because I realize how stupid they are. Really they are all gunna end up like Mohamed Ali and not be able for a sentence. Retards :S!

ufc's made up of what 7 different styles? surley those guys know what they are doing or they wouldnt be there. In a real right ---- has to go fast and uncontrolable thats how you win, take them out fast and hard right?

i was in tae kwan do and jujitsu, the reason "kicks are for fags" and they are. is because your leaving your entire body open for an attack when you kick someone. you might be able to get a kick off by catching someone off guard, but you cant rely on that. if you try to kick the wrong person your going to end up with a broken leg. and if you try to be the agressor you have no control over the fight.

isnt that the whole point of fighting knowing when to strike and how? it makes sense to kick when necessary espically when they are effective.A good kickboxer will walk circles around a good boxer plain and simple, ive seen it happen quite offen.

Yeah that is part of it of course.

You know what a judoka will have the kick boxer his feet. Then what is he going to; nothing because all of his tools for ending the fight have been taken away.

alot of the guys in the video are called the flying tigers in korea. the guys are not only skilled in tae kwon do, but also hapkido which is a submissive martial art. the tigers are good enough to tech the korean military, and protect the presidant of south korea. i agree that alot of the teniques that they demmostrate are for show, but thats not all they know. and btw if you say that kicking is not for fags. spinning kicks arent that effective. but a kick to someones knee joint will break it with proper form. its like chopping down a tree

but thats what makes fighting fun, knowing more then the other person, many of the fighters on ufc and similar programs, many of them do know at least a couple if not more different styles, i know submissions and kicks arnt gonna work as well against some people but when holding someone in a submission and quickly seeing you have a chance to use your hands and arms, even elbows is what makes the winners winners. switching between differnt styles and mixing it up is what makes someone better then the rest.

You see those little flashes of light photoshopped into the vid, everytime they struck a blow? That's the Icy Hot Stuntaz of martial arts, right there.

Bruce Lee would destroy anyone he faced in the UFC or anywhere for that matter. Obviously you ar not that educated about Martial Arts because anyone who can kill someone by throwing a punch from an inch away is dangerous. Bruce Lee was the best and always will be, just like Jordan and Ali. However as far as the UFC goes Gracie was the best. Most fights in the street or anywhere end up on the ground and if you are as skilled as Gracie was then you were done. There would be no referee to stop the fight, no tap-outs, basically you are going to get hurt, bad. And for the guy who was in tournaments, well what you pretty much said is that the BJJ guy you fought probably would have kicked your ass if there was no judges or referee to stop the fight. It's a tournament, and I have been in a lot of them, and if one person is "too agressive" they got disqualified, but that doesn't mean that there techniques are unaffective, it means that they didn't follow the rules of the tournament, but take it to the street and see who would have won. I believe the best combination for a well rounded fighter is Muay Thai and BJJ. They can hurt you standing up and they can hurt you on the ground. And kicks aren't for fags. If your in a desperate situation and you kick your opponent to get him off of you would you still say kicks are for fags. I'm not sure about you, but I've been kicked a lot and believe me they hurt, doesn't matter were you get kicked, it hurts, that's if the person knows how to kick.

I agree. Bruce Lee is God. We should make him president so the country could save millions on security. He could beat up anybody that wanted to kill him, or even tried to kill him. He could kill anybody, and everybody.

You and everybody else. Those styles complement each other, but I believe any effective fighter of one art can overcome situations when faced with a sub-part fighter of two arts.

Most of this is ---- flinging is just opinion. I can say apples are better than oranges and the only justification that I'm right should only be myself. No body else.

So to say that one art is better than the other is pure falsehood through and through. A lot of this speculation will fall under chance, 'would have's and 'what if''s. So cut the ---- and stop arguing about ---- that doesn't matter. Unless you're in a primal fight over something that has meaning to you, then don't worry about it. Matter of fact, avoid fights at all cost and keep your opinion valid and not time tested, otherwise you might end up dead. These arts have already been time tested and that is why the live on today.

h22a92Accord 11-30-2005 01:24 AM

Re: Insane Martial arts techniques Vid...

No I like oranges better. :y. And I never said that one art is better than another, what I was referring to was what art would make a well-roundedfighter and I mentioned those two arts. No art is better than any other and I totally agree with what you said about no fighting because that's exactly what martial arts are about. There about keeping the peace, discipline and honesty, loyalty, respect and I could go on and on. So we are all allowed are opinions, but please don't go mixing up what I said.
