it depends on the chemicals wheter it needs pressure to creat an explsion

you can take a pile of gun powder and light it and all it wil do is make a flash, if you put it in a sealed container(i.e. bullett casing) the heat and energy created after lighting it creates pressure. and if the pressure is great enough the container explodes (i.e. bullet is forced from the casing)

the bag catches on fire, and using your average ----- bottle racket wont work. yo need the ones that shoot sparks everywhere when they explode

c4 is a little bit different from ammonium nitrate and diesel; and the reason why it's so easy to ignite is that the breakdown of ammonium nitrate and that of diesel feed off of each other. Try a model rocket igniter, might work.

C4 cannot be detonated with flames, you need an electro-staic charge to set it off
