Re:importing a crx sir
i pesonally think rhd would suck, i think it would look cool and be different, but just be a hassle having to get use to it. as far as what i said earlier, the glass roof is the only thing i see having a problem with, b16 swap, jdm interior (with power evrything), jdm suspension, and don't forget all the jdm labels and tags . would be a lot easier and cheaper than importing one. hell, you could prolly find the glass top somewhere, i don't know about installation, but i'm sure someone could get it done. there was a usdm crx converted to jdm completely in a super street a long time ago and he had the glass top

I dunno know if it'd be actually cheaper to buy the JDM parts part by part cause for just the glass top I've seen the cheapest at 800 bones, and it goes up from there. And then some of those JDM stuff are hardcore sought after and go for a gang, I've seen quotes from companies for JDM REX doors for 650. Interior like 350+ (just for the front and back seats), etc. I say go to jap, buy a rex chop it in half and send to here to the US a half at a time. Then you have everything, either weld it together or swap it onto your car. You don't have to meet US regulations cause it's a half a car. That way you don't have to search all over the country/world for JDM parts and when you save time you save money.

I dont think that it would be that expensive, because I can import it for race use only and put the new bumper and head lights to make it comply. Once its in arvada CO I take it to the broomfeild where they look at the vin and tell me what i have to change to make it street legal. From what i hear it is usally just changing easy stuff like seat belts and so forth. that stuff should not be a problem because im not that bad with cars. Even if I cant make it comply i can part it out and still make money off the car because the cars are cheap because of the way the US doller transfers over.

It is far more expensive to buy every part you would get with the JDM crx. You wouldhave to by used and then put them in the cara nd find alllll ofthe wiring deviants and what not. it is FAR less of a headake just to buy the entire car and go that route. If it goes to a point where you cant get them to street driveability, then use the enture car and put it on a new shell.

Kinda funny 'cause where I used to work at (Japanese Auto Sport at El Paso,TX) the owner of the shop bought a JDM CRX and everything was around $9,000 importing and legalizing. Also he bought a Del Sol, and man you should see that trunk open, they have a mechanism that lifts it up, pretty cool . I think if you are really have you heart set on it, then do it!!
