just one company

Exxon Mobil Corp. posted record profits for any U.S. company on Monday — $10.71 billion for the fourth quarter and $36.13 billion for the year — as the world’s biggest publicly traded oil company benefited from high oil and natural-gas prices and solid demand for refined products.

The company said its average sale price for crude oil in the U.S. during the quarter was $52.23 a barrel, compared with $38.85 a year earlier. It sold natural gas in the U.S., on average, for $11.34 per 1,000 cubic feet, compared with $6.61 during the same period a year ago.

China has experienced a stable growth in its domestic oil and gas supplies over the last five years, according to the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC).

Statistics show that China's crude oil output increased from 165 million tons in 2000 to 183 million tons in 2005, and the output of natural gas rose from 27 billion cubic meters to 47.5 billion cubic meters.

Kuwait, Abu Dhabi and Qatar plan to channel more of their revenue from oil sales into Asian countries such as China to boost returns and strengthen ties with their fastest-growing customers.

Saudi Arabia plans to implement more than $40 billion worth of energy projects.

Industry sources said the Saudi oil sector would seek to fulfill increasing requirements from China.
