i'm new! well kinda

sup everyone! i'm a resource member who is rexless at the moment. so i guess this the place to ask about my new project. really don't laugh cuz i fully intend to do it. even if it isn't the fastest car ever.
well enough excuses. i have a 87 prelude si. don't laugh. i wanna make a custom turbo kit for it. fun inexpensive project. i have a spare engine and tranny so if i blow it up it's no biggie. also i can weld and i'm an engineering student so i will pull this off. i need solid advice on what kind of engine manegment to use. this is the 12 valve efi engine with vacum dist. i was thinking maybe the sds eic? i doubt i am going to find any aftermarket parts like bigger injectors or anything. i could go vortech fmu but i kinda don't want to . the only thing that bugs me is the timing thing. what do first gen crx guys do when they go turbo. redpepperracing is still down i think so answers there.

hey waz up ollie!

whats up fellow a20 owner! :) go to www.3geez.com there is a guy who is making a standalone fuel system, by modifying turbo sunbird VE tables and all the fuel and spark tables... it is programmed to effeciently run up to 15psi right now...
he is also selling it with DIS system :)

anyway, theres lots of good a20a3 info at that site, and im 80% sure that parts of his turbo kit would work for you too. (like manifold and charge pipes) and then u could peice the rest of it together. :)

sweet. i'm trying to register right now. i am going to weld my own manifold and charge pipes. i used to go to that site but i forgot my password and it's being retarted. this is my second 2g lude my wife totaled the first. so i bought another one that was hit in the front and i welded my good front clip from the struts forward onto the new car. now i just have to assemble the rest of the fron end i.e. hood headlights bummper... bla bla. its a fun car though

im not sure about the legend injectors. they ,ay be 280, yours should be the standard 240's... as far as ur vac dist i believe there is something to offset it or bypass it when you want to boost. Fuel managment is always best with a stand alone... but u said inexpensive... stock injectors and fmu would be ur best bet

Re:i'm new! well kinda

they only real stand alone system i could use would be a haltech or something like that. wich means scrapping my wiring harness and making a new one with a limited amount of sensors. that, i think is the real drawback of the 2g ludes. i'm still thinking of using the sds eic with 2 or 4 more injectors. someone on the resource said i can use a msd boost timing master on the vac dist. so i am looking into that. with that engine manegment system and a fmic. i think i should be pretty safe at 6 psi. at least until i get my other block built up a bit. crappy stock silcon based pistons blow. is it wiseco that makes customs for 360 a set?
