Naw I got into grits when I was in basic in the air force and alot of the guy in my group where black and who I hung out with and they got me into it. Except I don't put salt and butter into like they did. Ewwww. I just load it down with sugar like oatmeal! Now when it comes to cornbeef hash that was like a family thing and from my parents being really poor growing up on the indian reservation and what the government supplied the resveration with to eat. Like corned beef and potatoes where pretty cheap so they put two and two together and now the next generation eats it like it's normal. I guess that just how I was raised!
