Im going to the track real soon how do i launch my sled? any tips? alot of people say to drop the clutch at like 4k rpm but that'll cause alot of wheel spin.

If your on street tires dont even bother launching hard. Slicks are your friend :)

yea ima have street tires. so i should just concentrate on releasing the clutch as fast as posible without spinning the tires. no crazy clutch drops at 4k rpm then huh?

lol, i went to track last week for the 1rst time and all my buddys told me lauch high. yeah ------- right, all i did was spin tires.

i say find a freshly paved street see what she hooks up at and subtract 500 rpms from that.

so am i looking for my car to jump off the line without spinning the tires or just getting on gear asap without spinning the tires?

obvisoly wheel spin is not good off the line, but if you want to launch hard you may just get a little bit. Launching on street tires consists of slipping the clutch real bad at maybe 2-3000 rpms, slicks is a different scenario, depending on size sometimes yous can just dump the clutch at whatever rpm you want and it rips out of the hole. From what I can see in your profile you better get some decent slicks, because even though your big si sled is heavy, it will still rip out of the hole pretty good.

Hah, bring an extra set of axels too. I just got my own set of slicks and have this funny feeling I'm going to break one :-\

i launched today at a light at 4k rpm feathering the clutch very minimal and it chirped like 4 times realy fast and took off. ima practice some more later.
