I'm the Godfather
 

got the call today from my couzin, he had a kid and wants me to be the godfather
they go by the greek orthodox religion so theres going to be this whole church fiasco where i dunk the baby in oil...etc
i accepted the offer, but just wanted to know what exactly did i get myself into, im kind of worried since i believe that its my job to fork out all the cash for this whole ceremony and ----, i mean giving the kid gifts and stuff is fine, but renting out a church and organizing this ---- is beyond me, not to mention ive got most of my funds invested into turboing the rust bucket this summer

any of you have any experience on this ----, i just fear a huge hole in my pocket :l

not sure how ---- works exactly. but you might shell out for the kids clothing, maybe not?

hell. its up to them. you show up, dunk the kid, bam. no you gift him from time to time, and be done with it.

For most people godfather doesn't mean ----. "Hey you wanna be our godfather? Great!"

Then you see the kid in 10 years and say how much he's grown up.

i was chekin up on that and it isn't true, only if they put me in their will as the guardian

ya g_shok being a godfather doesn't mean you have to be his rich uncle. the perverted one for sure, but not the rich one.
if both parents die that means you are a candidate to be the legal gaurdian. however, that is not set in stone, as other family members can usually make a stronger case for raising the children than a designated "godparent" can.

yea from what i've seen and heard over hear, most of the time be a guardparent means next to nothing other than gifts every once in a while.
