If you have Comcast...

If you have Comcast...
Reboot your modem June 3rd, your upload will go to 1mbps up on 6mbps speed, and 2mbps on the 8mbps service.
DOCSIS 3.0 crap is supposed to be out in the next year or two as well, much faster downloads and uploads.

thanks for the tip.
i havent had anything but good experiences with comcast. exceptional service (on site) and great customer service on the phone.
i actually switched away from Qwests DSL service and got the comcast triple play. couldnt be happier. at least my bills are accurate now.

Personally I've never had their service. I've had knology which was fine the year I had it, although the speeds never seem to be what was advertised. I've also had mediacom which was frequently out. I've used DSL and the speed sucks (although I know it depends on how far you are from the station).
If you don't restart on june 3rd, you'll still get it, but not for a week or two. When you restart the modems it checks the bootfile to make sure it's up to date.

o ---- is this for real?
I've had comcast forever now and no problems either. Great knowledgeable customer support, even when asking them about kinda random non related stuff they've been helpful. Always fixed all problems quickly. speed is pretty fast to me, don't have anything to compare it to though.

made the switch to Comcast Cable internet... omg, i NEVER have to call them to bitch about ----. always works, if there is an issue im having its aways been solved by just resetting the modem. infact when i moved into my current place i was just using shitty unsecure internet connections. i called Comcast at 10pm....was on hold for like 5seconds "hi, how can i help you?" they sent someone out 2 days later, of course from some big *** time frame of "8am-12pm". but thats cable company for ya. pretty sure it was a saturday too.
i will stick with comcast
