So what car can we swap that bitch in? Does it respond well to turbo? How much will a swap cost? I need answers. ;)

A honda with significantly more torque than horsepower. Crazy.

instead of turbos our kids will be adding more batteries and amplifiers to make their car faster.

drive by wire is gay throttle response sucks if you floor the car and the car doesnt think it should be floored it wont go to wide open throttle also the new NSX is brake and steering by wire too well thats what my friend told me who is an Acura tech

drive by wire scares me.. what if a solinoid fucks up goin 90 down the highway or a sensor or some other electrical component decides to burn up. ---- drive by wire... just get rid of power steering and tell everyone to stop being -----s.

it means </mechanical linkage between the pedal and the throtle> in other words.. sensors measure the distance the accel pedal is pushed and relays that to the throtle mechanism to open the throtle body to the oppropriate angle. Its what all cars will be in the coming years.. but this is basically one of the first "economy" cars to impliment the technology.

there is fly by wire for planes. So if you put your ass in the air with it, then I suppose in a car is okay.

I don't know if I believe that. I've seen some videos of those planes ------- up during demonstrations. Basically during a low level flyby, the computer thought the plane was supposed to land. so it did, right into the woods next to the runway. I just think about all the bugs and glitches that are always in computers, no matter how hard you try you'll always have at least one.

Planes are also inspected before they take off. Wanna know something scary... Fedex has a more rigorous preflight inspection then most passenger airlines... (dad works for Fedex, used to work for a few commercial airlines).

And instead of carbon fiber hoods, they'll be solar panel hoods. "Yo man, check this out, I get an extra 2.5kw from this thing. Only during the day though :-\ "

Don't think it's a D18...it has a 81mm bore like a B-series does.
And it has less torque then HP(sorry SinisterCRx)
It has 128 lb.ft. torque....on the site it says 174 NM that is what they mostly use in europe and other shitty countries.

Re: If any one cares.. new civics move to drive by wire

the new mustangs and f-150s have electronic throttles. i have to drive an 05 f-150 for work, and i can honestly say the throttle response sucks ass. you can't power brake with it either. if you try to floor it while the brake is pressed it will restrict the throttle till you let off the brake. one of the guys i work with was bitching about it on his mustang. you have to do rolling burnouts at the drag strip, pain in the ass if you're using slicks.

So how do the power numbers translate into horsepower and torque?

maybe not a "D"18 but it is a sohc 1.8l

Re: If any one cares.. new civics move to drive by wire

no itb's, if you look closely there is only one throttle body. those butterflys look like there part of a two stage intake manifold like they used to use on the gsr.
