I think some of the older ones came with lockers from the factory. My dad had like an early 80's one. I think he said his had front and read manual lockers. Or maybe it was just the rear.

Either way badass. Car manufacturers today are ------- pussies. Nobody makes cool ---- anymore. Bring back the samurai. Bring back solid front axle Toyotas. Put Turbo diesels in them. Make bumpers out of steel not plastic. Give me roll-down windows, and manual locks. No stupid ------- electronics in the cab. just a radio, and then I'll put a CB in it later.

I work with a guy that has 1 of those. It's like some convertible top type ----. It's probaly a late 80, early 90 model or so. He says it has a four banger. I gotta K26 I'm tryin' to talk him in to throwin' on it.

there was a guy in town with 22,000 original km's on a fuel injected red one, shone like a festered ------- :y I know were there is a silver one and I have never seen it leave the carport, also looks brand new. I missed one last fall that was nice and clean and just missed a rust free one with a spring over lift and a turbo diesel vw motor swap ran but not completed. With that said there anrnt many around like this I'm being picky, I hate pooring money into stuff thats junk, I like starting with something decent. ------- things are worth cash now, I remember when you couldn't give them away and now they want 8000.00 for them :S

mustve been some other sort of suzuki, pretty sure 86 or 87 was the first year for the samurai in the us, and i dont think any came with lockers (unless you mean locking hubs, which they have)

I had a 85 samurai but it was kinda a oddball on some parts. Before that they had the sj410 I think it was called. I dont know of any that had a factory locker front or rear.

What you need rust free for? In order to make it sweet you need to cut most of the body off anyway.

lol...only 2 were below 3k. Not that long ago you could find them for sub 1k pretty easily.

I asked him. He said his was a late 70's suzuki and I guess those weren't samurai's. It had like an 850cc 4cyl in it and yes it had a manual locker for the rear axle.

I had an '83 SJ410, no factory lockers in it, but it did have a whole 1000cc of 48hp furry... :3, rihno lined ext. DA integra seats, spring over and 33's. It was fun till I almost burned it to the ground bouncing up a fsr, and had a bad ground, the battery decided to ground through the clutch and throttle cables, burnt the throttle cable completely b4 I got it out. Thank god the previous owner had put a hand throttle in too. Still a long ride home.

Kinda miss it, but at the end of the day if I had another I might as well just buy a toyota, as all the running gear would end up being yota stuff anyway. Also gotta go with Brine04 doesn't matter as long as the tub is rust free, the rest of that ---- will get cut up anyway... :6

Come to AZ. I don't even know what rust looks like. :P I know a guy who picked one up recently for a couple hundered bucks, NO RUST and runs and drives fine.

I agree with DrBoost, AZ has plenty of Samurais. Just hit up Phoenix Craigs List, I saw quite a few on there.

Someday I hope to build one like they did on extreme 4x4. I even have the episodes on PVR for later reference.

I was trying to find one for my wife to wheel. I gave up looking for a reasonably priced one that wasn't a complete rot box. I was going to do some toyota axles, geared and locked. Cage it and call it good for her. Insted I just bought another Cherokee. Its going to get the same set up as my red one. 4.5 lift, 32's or 33's, gears, lockers, and maybe the same long arm set up as my red one.
